    Under Hood Light

Does anyone recognize this under-hood light or know anything about it? Is it factory or aftermarket? THANKS!

    Unusual Steering problem

You “might” have the little valve (name?) on top of the steering box off a little. There’s some type of fix where you just loosen it slightly and tap on it moderately so it “re-centers”. Apparently there’s a small fluid hole between the box and that little valve that can get off-center, which...

    question on harmonic balancer

Good question. They don’t wear out often, but I have had one on a Ford go bad once. Sure, why not replace it? Make sure you get one that’s correctly balanced for your motor (likely neutral balance, but check) You replaced the seal in the timing chain cover where the harmonic balancer goes...

1967 Plymouth III tire pressure ??

Read the side of the tire itself (very small) and it will list a maximum recommended pressure, and then go a few psi lower. HOWEVER - my guess (14" tires) is that you have "old school style" tires that take a maximum pressure of about 35 psi (similar to factory original tires) & I would suggest...

    Crank to electric window conversion

I've been looking into this for a b-body for serval years. The window regulators are different, so you'll need all 4 regulators. The motors are cheap and easily available (eg Autozone). Many people suggest running a relay for each window instead of allowing 12V to go through the switches...

Idle gets slower and slower . . .

Change the gas completely and put in a new fuel filter. Maybe look at the vacuum line on the distributor advance? Spray some carbuetor cleaner down the air bleeds of the carburetor (500 cfm Holley, right?) I'd start by changing the old gas. Even with stabilizers, it doesn't stay good nearly...

    Engine rebuild

An engine builder once asked me, "How fast do you want to spend?" I will go on the assumption you have a "mid-size" budget and just want a peppier cruiser, so here's my advice. 1. Find a 360 engine. It bolts right in, costs the same to rebuild and starts off with 42 more cubic inches 2. Good...

    Shift collars

Geez, I'm not sure if the B-body and C-body collars were the same??? IF they are, you can buy a b-body 4-speed/console automatic shift collar that is smooth all around and doesn't have that column shifter connection. Maybe Tony's Parts? has reproductions or look for a used one. Are C-body...

Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

If you really need quiet, maybe add a set of resonators (glass packs) in the tail pipes behind stock-type mufflers like Hemi cars do. I've been considering this myself

Suggestions for a "Performance" muffler that isn't too loud

I've been down this road. If your wife is that sensitive, you need Walker mufflers or the biggest stock-type mufflers that will physically fit. Cadillac mufflers like Big John said? The b-body guys used to use '73 (?) Imperial mufflers as hemi muffler knock offs? All of the high flow...

    Confused

I went the bypass the ammeter, but leave it hooked up route as bronze turbine mentions. It was easy and I've had no issue. My ammeter "kinda" works. It's not accurate at all, but I can see a big charge or big drain somewhat. It would tell me if my alternator went out for sure

    413 Backfires

Snap call? vacuum leak on intake/carb/vacuum hose when you changed the intake. Maybe look for a single fouled plug, a loose plug wire (boot backed off of plug), burnt plug wire leaning up against the exhaust.

    best carburetor

These guys are correct, maybe just rebuild the carburetor you have OR it's something different. Impossible to start could be accelerator pump, choke, or an ignition issue. Check it out closely before you buy a carb. If it comes down to it, a 3310 Holley 750 vacuum secondary is a good choice...
