Thanks for your reply mate, I think I've fixed the problem The tiny grub screw needed tightening up and that realeased the shift button, I shall replace the grub screw with a fresh one as I could see traces of thread lock on it and it doesn't seem to tighten up very well Should the grub stew...

My 66 Monaco has the shifter stuck in the park position, the push button is not flush with the top of the shifter, I can see one small screw towards the top, if I undo this can I just pull the top of the shifter off, remove the console and see what's going on? I did half this problem the other...
