What are you working on today??

That's sick, i love it. Never seen one chopped. A friend of mine owns an outwardly stock one that he actually converted entirely to Miata suspension and running gear. Lots of very impressive fab work on it but I'd have a stock one. And I do. Also worth noting how much they were trying...

What are you working on today??

It's a fun little thing. 40 horsepower at the crank and a top speed of 50. Really fun to drive though, you really have to be paying attention when even the slightest incline demands action. Wildly overbuilt too. Entire bottom end is forged, including the pistons. Common shaft mounted rocker...

Visited the bodyshop again today for some refreshing beverages. This Volvo is getting painted this week and then Blue is going in. Finally.

    HELP! 1967 POLARA 500 440hp & 4speed PRODUCTION INFO (GALEN)

England actually had taxes based on horsepower but not torque which resulted in motors like the Jaguar XK6 meant for low end grunt. Australia has and had not only tax based on engine displacement and cylinder count, but also restrictions on what a driver is allowed to own/drive based on how long...

    HELP! 1967 POLARA 500 440hp & 4speed PRODUCTION INFO (GALEN)

I've seen an extremely nice '66 polara 4 door sedan with a slant six for sale here in vancouver with period photos of the car with the slant in it. So they do exist. I've never seen any sales/options stuff with a slant listed, but special things could be ordered if you asked the sales guy nicely...

Going's been slow. The weather has turned and because the car is on the rack, I have to punt the thunderbird outside to work on it. Got all of the panels fabbed up in pieces, had to extensively reshape the original inner quarter I made for the old incorrect quarter made out of armour plating...

There we go. Had to borrow someone's shop to get it done. Avanti.

Still plugging away at the quarter panel, but if you're old like I am, you grew up with Highway 35 and acceleracers, which despite being silly little toy commercials were genuinely great films that stood the test of time On impulse i photoshopped a highway 35 livery onto the car, based on the...

Swell, appreciate it. I kind of screwed up the original drawing, i'm looking for the distance between the highest/outermost point on the bodyline to the flat plane of the wheel lip

Still fabbing the quarter here. But if anyone has a '66 polara, can anyone measure the above distances and relay them back here? I obviously have nothing left of the original panels and I'd like to get more exact measurements to ensure I do it right. A is the thickness of the panel behind the...

Yeah. On a lighter note though, after this thing I can do anything. No project can be bigger or worse than this ordeal. Chopping a curved glass meteor is going to be a cakewalk compared to righting this mess. As a friend remarked, I've crossed the Bluebicon. Pax Polara!
