The bearings had some uneven wear pattern. Also, the bearing preload adjustment was incorrect I think. After I swapped the gears it was noticeably tougher to rotate the gears.

Center section is back in! All quiet now. Love the 3.23 gears!

All 4 bearings are on the way from Dr Diff. I will be changing the bearings and the gears which will take center section out of equation. If I still get noise after this - axle bearings will be checked next. I will check the u-joint as well.

Nope, does not change in a turn or a curve. What confuses me is that it is noisy when coasting and not when accelerating, especially at lower speeds, even when coming to a stop you can hear it at 10mph. That made me think the gears are problem...

No need to apologize for kind words. I have been building the Read head for 2 years in total. I enjoyed every moment of the process and proud to say that the only major thing not done by me was seat covers from Legendary interiors. Mopars are great cars and I know I will be building one again.

I have always been telling my wife that people on this forum are the best, different than any other. Thank you all. This is a very personal matter and it is tough for me to discuss. I hope I will not offend anyone if I ask to keep discussion cars related...
