I can only post up screenshots as the AD is in a private group not able to be viewed by the public.
It's a PL car with no special order plate so being a bona-fide PD car maybe questionable.

Thank you for posting PL41L0F243024

"A38", some F codes,... certainly indicative of "police" equipment from factory.

"police car"? who knows.

likely, but to me, from what's shown, inconclusive without the "paper trail" of fleet owner(s).

Funny I went back to this one to see if any comments were made, nothing... comments were turned off.
This car is the banner picture now of the group thou...

Then I remember reading something in another post for someone looking for a 1969 Dodge CHP car.

Poster OT commented this:
"Have you seen that photo of the LA County Sheriff's office stockpile of crown vics in the desert. There's like 200 of them brand new never been in service that they're keeping and handing out to special people. If I can find it I'll send it to you. I'd love to have one again."

Anyone know if this is true? Post is only 6 days old with just one other comment by the author of original post.

I googled that quote and the way it appears to me is that, yes, they ordered 600 CV's in 2011 to stockpile. Personally, I would have ordered 10X that amount.
That quote is a year old and their new CV inventory was down to about 240.
There's going to be a humongous ceremony, I would guess, when the last one goes into service.

I wonder who these 'special people' are... Ha!

Interesting to see HP manifolds on a 383-2 barrel. They look to have been on there a LONG time.

The rust in the hood and drivers front fender, plus the aircleaner, look like a spoiler alert to what the rest of it surely looks like.

Does anyone have the actual contact number or email for the guy selling the car? I dont do facebook either. If it had the pk3410 670 trans in it it would be ok for me. It does look like a parts car only. The trim tag says 'hd trans' so Im wondering.
thanks

The problem with doing this is parts. Yes, they can rely on salvaging parts from XXX cars, and if their Materials Manager is sharp, they may have known what to stockpile, but Ford doesn't support that car any longer and most parts have been discontinued and are hard to source.

I spotted this Crown Vic black & white in SF the weekend after Thanksgiving, still in service (actually two of them). This gave me a glimmer of hope that the world hasn't ended just yet. :usflag:

Lov'in on the the old Vic's! Great cars. I am a strong Mopar guy but recognize a great car when I see one. Four to five hundred thousand miles before they are completely put out to pasture is not uncommon. Something about refrigerator white with black steelies and blackwalls, just has "the look!"
Making me wax nostalgic for my St. Regis A38 E58 that is in storage for the winter.

Funny that car reminds me of a classmate of mine that I really didn't socialize with in High School when I had my 1968 PK21 Furys, he was in my drafting class and even though I got put off of that class as the teacher gave me a A- on a drawing as my edge of paper borderline line had gone over a fraction of a inch on the corner and was erased corrected. Well this classmate went onto a very high paying job drafting printed circuit boards after graduation in the early 70's and ordered right from a dealer a full Police Package St. Regis like this one but it was in silver. He pulled up on me in the supermarket parking lot to say hi (and I take it to show off the car) I didn't have much to say other than "Ya'cund'init of gotten a Plymouth?". laff.
He didn't seem to have the car long as he was tooling around in a early 80's (the new body style) full Police optioned Crown Vic and then not long after that he shows up at my house one night in his new 5.0 Mustang, what first year of the 'Fox Body'?
He had a set of fully adjustable race track only Rancho sway bars and asked if I would install them. I'm like WTF how much you going to pay me? When he said a couple of hundred bucks... I said sure, He didn't hang around and I don't remember giving him a ride home to the other side of town, but I popped them in right quick, only thing I had to do was drill some bolt holes in the front lower control arms and read the directions on how to adjust them for ummm 'medium' (neutral) track use. I mean these were stupid thick and with metal adjustable Hiem joints on all four corners. Now this car was one of my first drives of a new body 5.0 Mustang and I wasn't impressed, 55mph era car with like 10" discs & 9" drums in the rears so the brakes sucked. I took the car too a very large commuter line parking lot and tried some close figure 8 autocross and it was pushing real hard on the front and didn't have enough umph to get the *** end to kick out but when I went for a quick blast out on the interstate I found that I could take a exit ramp at 80mph with very little use of the **** brakes by just grabbing a handful of stick and pitching the car sideways. When he came to pick up the car it had started to rain a light drizzle so when I took him for a demonstration drive it was too slick to do anything stupid. Now I remember I think his girlfriend was with him earlier that gave him a ride too and from my house and as he caught me right as I got home from work and I was still in my uniform so I just got right at it after he left, he took me out for drinks later and with his girlfriend in the front I had to cram myself in the back and by then he had driven the car enough to ask the question about the noise as with the all metal Heim joints the car sounded like riding in a stage coach just going down the well used state road. My answer... turn the ******* radio up. LOL
Years later I run into him and asked him how them swaybars work out, he said the bolt on front A-arm brackets eventually tore apart the A-arms and he had some serious welding done. <smh>
