    Rear part name?

The shackles attach to the longitudinal frame rails and the rear ends of the longitudinal rails are connected by another frame rail, to which the bumper brackets attach. Is that piece damaged from collision/impact, rusted, or combinations thereof? CBODY67

1971-73 Imperial Sure Brake by Bendix

Only one rear modulator? All literature and articles mentioned, as I recall, that EACH of the wheels could have specific modulation, not the rear wheels together. AND, what made the unit very special was that it had TWO decel rates, rather than just cycling between "on" and "off" at the wheel...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

Please re-read my earlier post, the section where I discussed how Chrysler used the term "High Performance" in their literature. THEN the section where I mentioned "Camshaft" specs. The ONLY "High Performance" non-HEMI cam is the 1967+ 268/284 cam, whether it was in a 383 or 440. Those...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

My '70 Monaco Brougham 383 "N" has the upswept HP manifolds. Look at the engine illustrations from the Order Guide, above. I bought the car in 1975 with 80K miles, unmolested or modified. Enjoy, CBODY67

@skinsman, your point of disagreement is? Just curious. No more, no less. C BODY67

You mean "weatherstrips" rather than metal trim moldings?

    Paint

Different carlines called the same-formula color different marketing names. Most notable were the High Impact Colors of the later 1960s and early 1970s. As always, go by the factory color code numbers. CBODY

1968 Chrysler automatic headlight dimmer (never seen this before)

The system is probably a GM-Guide system as GM had that option before other makes did AND sold more of them on Cadillacs and such in the 1960s. The light photocell receiver was usually on the instrument panel rather than on the outside cowl area. This option was probably a little more extreme...

    Headlight Switch

Could even be a broken wire. Anything to prevent a good ground circuit from happening as designed.

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

Yes, I found the page ref'd above. Found no such page on Hamtramck Historical for 1968, for some reason. On the Engines page of the 1969 Dodge Coronet data book, it plainly said the 383/330 was for a/c cars, rather than the 383/335. As I mentioned, Dodge was more open with that information...

    78 Newport door switches

Does the lower item rotate or push in? If it rotates, check the other front door and see if it is not connected to the shoulder belt release for the retractor. The "flipper" might be missing from it. CBODY67

    Headlight Switch

Sounds like a ground issue of electrons seeking a place to go and finding it in the wrong places. Back-feeding in the process. Might need to get a factory wiring schematic (from the factory service manual) and start tracing the circuits from the light switch and look for common feed circuits...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

I knew about the a/c restrictions related to the cool air induction systems, plus 440 6bbls and HEMIs. That big RV2 compressor got in the way. There was on yellow '70 Charger that went through Mecum about about 2007 or so. Yellow 4-spd car with a 440. When I saw it, it was at a customer's...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

I found the a/c exceptions listed for 1969, but Dodge was more open about it than Plymouth in the Data Books. Didn't find similar in 1968 Plymouth Data Book, just the exception of factory a/c not allowed on 383 2bbl 4-spd B-bodies and GTX 4-spds. Nothing on 383 4bbls noted. AND nothing about...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

Now, like I stated, back then we just knew what we read in magazines and sales brochures. Be that as it may. All of the "numbers match" stuff came in later years. BUT if 383/335s did not have factory a/c in the earlier years, what about a '68 Road Runner I saw in west Texas in July, with the...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

Be careful with the use of "HP" as to C-body 383s. The 383 "N" engine is listed in the FSM as "383 High Performance", just as it is the B-body FSM. In earlier times, I termed the 383/335 was a "Road Runner 383" (before there was the similar Super Bee, plus mainly because our town had a weak...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

The Charger would not have had the 383/335 because that engine was exclusive to Super Bees, in Dodges and Road Runners in Plymouths. Otherwise the normal 383/330. I did see lots of Road Runners with factory a/c in TX, just as my friend's '69 Super Bee 383/335 had factory a/c too. His car was...

    C body HP 383 - same as B body??

My '70 Monaco Brougham 383 "N" car came OEM with the HP exh manifolds and a black, crinkle paint dual snorkel air cleaner (rectangular snorkels), and factory dual exhausts. It also had the 10.75" torque converter, which takes 1 qt less fluid when the atf fluid is changed. Can't see that...
