Scarebird makes a rear disc conversion for our cars, or a least they used to. I have been happy with their front disc kit on my car. (You do have to use 15" wheels minimum)

That is very weird, my new yorker will often go to full throttle. The only correlation i can identify, is that it usually happens when there is a camaro, chevelle, mustang, charger, dump truck, or a honda civic near by me.
I have been running scarebirds stuff on my newyorker and torturing it on the track for years, no issues. My car runs low 12's and is street driven, so the brakes get pounded on.
