Mark your calendars: the fifth CATL Drive (aka the 2023 Edition) is on! The first (2019) CATL ran from Rockford, IL to the old Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee and onto Racine, WI (for beers and car discussions with @70 Sport Suburban) in September 2019, with a stop on Lake Michigan's western shore...

Did a practice run on back roads and the tollway today, out to Rockford and back, and then some. Plan to take the 69 Imperial on the Rt 66 CATL tour.

@furious70 is correct in that 5-6 folks have already committed to the CATL and some have offered to coordinate the Illinois and Indy spokes. In addition, several members have indicated their interest in the Ohio and Michigan spokes, respectively — but no one has volunteered yet to coordinate...

Would have loved to do this trip. But I'm several months away from having her back on the road... Being in Charlottesville (actually Earlysville), it's a short drive to Culpeper. Maybe next time!

...adds about 45 miles to the Saturday drive to St Louis. Both Plainfield and Joliet are on the old Rt-66, so they are a draw in that respect. Plainfield has Lake Renwick, which fits the C-Bodies At The Lake (CATL) theme. This said, I am indifferent between the three and will go with the flow :-)
