I don't think you can compare Bilsteins and KYB shocks like that. Much different e in price and quality to connect the dots like that. Would need to buy some Bilsteins and do a side by side with KYB on the same car and tires.

Yes I have been to the KYB website and they have pages of years and different car models but nothing for 1961 Chrysler. I even put it in their search engine and came back with nothing. I am focused on KYB Gas A-just shocks. front and rear. Unfortunately there are many variations of them...

Have you looked on the KYB website for information and other models the shocks might fit? Looked in RockAuto for shocks, too? In other many threads in here, over the decades, there were complaints that many then-available shocks were too weak for a Chrysler's weight. The usual ones everybody...

It's all in the spring. Shock absorbers don't do anything for height... Unless they are air shocks or have the coil springs (like someone added to your car). I have KYB shocks on my 2 Chryslers.

I'm having trouble installing the KYB shocks in the rear. They are hitting the bracket on both sides. Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

I had a problem similar to this when putting 275's under the rear of mine. I used KYB KG5413 shocks for Dodge trucks. Extended is 24.45 and I have no problems removing the wheels now and it still rides nicely.

Yes, any accurate assessment of both brands requires comparison with ALL OTHER VARIABLES HELD CONSTANT. The ONE variable I have trouble with at present is my spending plastic, which overheats this time of year, and is doing so now. Might be a worthy experiment this coming January, or not...

Hmm, looks like KYB quality is declining. I ran VatoZone's alternators for several years for not better reason than that they warrant them, knowing damned well the high failure rate would drive away all their custom were it not for that warranty. The Warranty has become the main product here...

The listing for rear shock is too short, You should go the longer shock, 24" KG5413 KYB rear. KG4507 KYB front. Install 72 dodge pick up truck rear brake flex hose to allow max drop of axel to remove wheels easy. The listed c-body hose is too short and when you lift car the hose gets stretched.

I prefer KYB gas shocks.

Thanks to everyone who suggested the KYB shocks! My front set did not come with the strap. The picture shows a 36 inch zip-tie used to reduce the length by 4 inches to create the needed clearance. Two suggestions (or one old fools opinion); A) For the bottom of the front shock (top of rear)...
