Rear end upgrade for 59 Dodge CRL Questions

I kinda thought the new torque number would be 170, just like the 742 with spacer, Doctor Diff confirmed it, so for posterity and the fact that I couldn't find anything in writing 489 housing pinion nut torque should be 210(min) with the crush sleeve and 170 with the spacer and shims It took...

    Tool tips

Was looking at you tube video on making holes in carpet for the bolts etc. They used a heated socket, I used a heated hole punch. Goes right thru and no fraying, seals itself.

    power brakes

I removed a Power brake booster, backing plate and underdash linkage from a 66 Chrysler Newport that I parted out and swapped it in my 65 Sport Fury. I bought a new dual bowl master for a 72 or newer C body drum brakes and made new lines myself. Easy Peasy. It has been working great for the past...

68 Newport. Tightening up the steering

Guess this would be a drive line question. I've rebuilt my steering pump and my steering gear box. New pitman arm. And some new bushings. I just can't seem to dial out a ton of play in the steering wheel. I know it'll never be rack and pinion but there's gotta be a way to tighten it up to not be...

WANTED 67 Sport Fury A/C parts

Hello, I'm mainly looking for the dash parts/Vents. The car has a modern hemi in it, so I'm using the compressor off that, & will probably use a vintage air or something along those lines to make the A/C work. But I would like to gather up all the factory controls for the dash if possible.

    The weaponization of the DMV

What do they claim the additional $778.00 is for? How did they determine that amount? I'm not sure about "weaponization" per se, although it might certainly seem that way, but it could well be "people not knowing what they are doing" nor "understanding what they should be doing". At least...

    Holley 2bbl list/ series numbers

Respectfully, that noted number looks more like a Holley casting part number for the particular PART of the carburetor, not the 4-digit "List Number" (for the complete assy), that on 4bbls, was usually stamped on the front of the choke plate housing, near the top edge on the driver's side part...

    The weaponization of the DMV

Update - Just got another reply from the DMV. Now they are not satisfied with the US Customs forms and want an additional $778. Every time it is something new. When I satisfy that requirement, then they think of something else. Weaponization, I tell ya.... I am going to make an appointment and...
