My 2008 has 19,000 miles. It was in service but never really on patrol. LONG story about this one....lol. Now that my new truck won't be built until March, I have been driving it. It is like NEW!- SIPLOWGUY

I agree. I bought Harbor Freight wrenches in the 80's because a guy I work with said "when they break, throw them in the metal bin". They did but being a "junk man" I saved them. 30+ years later I found out they are Lifetime Warranty. I brought them back and I got new ones that were much better...- SIPLOWGUY

The problem with doing this is parts. Yes, they can rely on salvaging parts from XXX cars, and if their Materials Manager is sharp, they may have known what to stockpile, but Ford doesn't support that car any longer and most parts have been discontinued and are hard to source.- SIPLOWGUY

I have seen people use pliers for the hold downs and a mini vice grip for the return springs. HOWEVER, I DON"T LIKE THAT.
