New garage / shop lights, what would you recommend/use?

Yes white would help. I do have silver tin on the bottom as carsideing that maybe helps somewhat, but it seems most of my walls are covered by tools and shelves. My walls are a light tan. I don’t like dirty white walls. This is kind of my man cave/workshop, so didn’t go for the sterile white.

@sixpkrt Tim, I am adding this over in my lighting page so I can find it again.

What are you working on today??

Thanks Tim, by the way way I am down in Franklin TN right now now visiting my daughter. I am enjoying the high 60’s and low 70’s. A nice break from Fargo weather. My wife thinks we should find a rental for a month or two next winter down here. But am heading back to the cold and snow Tuesday...

New garage / shop lights, what would you recommend/use?

I am just starting my electrical plan. I am also questioning the power of these lights reflected to the ground. The Hyperlite site has the ufo and 4 ft lights. They also provide recommendations on lighting if you provide your plan outline and ceiling heights. I only sent it yesterday, so will...

New garage / shop lights, what would you recommend/use?

These give great light, but maybe a little extra. Also not sure of the durability. Also only about 6 year life at 12 hours a day. So maybe 10-12 years for me. It should cut down on shadows.

New garage / shop lights, what would you recommend/use?

I will be doing all work. Small restorations, upholstery…. Some of my challenge will be that when my car is on the lift, it will block some of the light. With your flat ceiling it looks like you have one set centered in the middle and another 2 on the edges. My lift would be positioned closer...

New garage / shop lights, what would you recommend/use?

@3175375 How high are these hung and what kind of spacing did you use? My simple math says you used 2 rows about 12’ apart? Maybe this answers my question on spacing and height.

New garage / shop lights, what would you recommend/use?

I am adding on to my standalone garage which is 24x24. It’s where I keep my Polara, has a 4 post lift and my upholstery machine and workspace. It’s getting a little crowded and I have no room for another car so I decided to add on. In the process I am re-thinking my lighting. Currently I have 8...

What are you working on today??

Looking for lighting advice. I am adding on to my stand alone garage, currently 24x24, but adding on 24x30. In the end it will be 48’ deep and vaulted ceilings (10’ at the walls and about 12’ in the middle). I am thinking about changing up my lighting and was wondering what you have planned for...

What are you working on today??

While making my T- harnesses and collecting more different styles of connectors for my Bobcat SAL, motorcycle, Engine analyzer, and Polara, I decided it was time to organize my electrical drawer so I could find what I needed without dumping everything out. Found some nice organizers for $2-3...

What are you working on today??

I needed to make a couple of T-harnesses for my Small Bobcat Articulated loader with snow blower This was my retirement gift to myself after working there 36 years and getting a nice Legacy Discount. I am a little biased on this machine as it was one of my Product Management projects doing a...

what date codes/quarter spark plug wires

Do you mean 1-2-69 or 12-68? Almost a year older than the scheduled production date seems unusual.

what date codes/quarter spark plug wires

I believe it depends on the supplier and logistics and how many days of supply on hand. If Jan or Feb build I would say Q4 1968. Since it was built towards the end of the quarter then it could feasibly be Q1. What’s the date code of your engine and transmission castings, plug wires and hose...

    68 Polara restore back on

I never did find plastic ones that were the right angle, so I re-used what I had. I think I was also able to use the metal studs but put in new mastic washers.

    HELP! 1967 POLARA 500 440hp & 4speed PRODUCTION INFO (GALEN)

I did my ‘68 Polara 2 dr ht that had been in my family since 1970. It sat in Colorado for 26 years baking in the sun. My goal was to make it new again so likely spent 3 times the value to restore. The sun baked interior likely includes a cracked dash pad and highly faded dash panels. So...

    Nervous about seat re-upholstery

That’s why I decided to learn to do my upholstery. As the quote I got about 8 years ago was around $4k to do it from scratch. I reverse engineered what I had, took my time and knocked it out. There were only 2 mostly hidden spots that I wished I did better, but unless you look for them it’s...

    NOT MINE 67 Polara 500 Convertible $15,500

Not Mine, I ran across this on Facebook. Originally Metallic blue, repainted resale red. Would have been a beautiful car in the original color. Not a nice color combo now. Looks like left front fender has been replaced with a ‘68 Polara fender. Has Summer Trim (some are there some are missing)...
