By code you should be able to match the original color. Most paint suppliers have a camera where they can read the color and decipher the formula to mix the paint.

    1965 Newport Paint

Continuation of some discussion on another thread, but this is paint specific. I have spent a bit of time going through posts (yes, also the paint sticky), and there is a lot of information, but not a lot of DO THIS, or DONT DO THIS, a lot of "it depends". So, my case.... My car is originally...

    Greetings, various restoration issues

The rainy weather that spawned all this trouble has stopped for a while and we've gotten some nice dry days, I've been airing the car out and now it is nice and dry in there. Which is to say, I have not had the opportunity to see if my repairs have staunched the seepage but next time it rains...

NOT MINE 1971 NY FB 4dr U code

Yes, I did have the California version of the VEC emissions tag reproduced by PCG for my New Yorker with the 440HP engine. It took some arm twisting and coming across with considerable cash but my rare New Yorker with a very interesting history was worth it IMO. I will post a photo of the...

68 Newport. Tightening up the steering

I revised my post - there shouldn't be too much play, so it's possible the internals are worn.

68 Newport. Tightening up the steering

I'm not so sure a shim in there would be a good idea - there needs to be some play in that a coupler by design. Regardless, the parts that are in there. Now could very well have worn out and the job to replace them there's not that particularly challenging, although getting it off the spline...

NOT MINE 1969 Newport Coupe in Indiana

How did they get the factory trim to go uphill like that? Or is it not factory trim, maybe? Glue-on trim?

Anyone sell new windshields for 69 Polara?

...tool is a utility knife and a stout hook-pick set to dig out the silicone. After that, putty knives and a hooked carpet knife, maybe. After that, *maybe* the correct tool might work. And as @3C's & a D? said, be prepared for rust under there. Silicone holds moisture, esp if it was gooped in...

    67-68 Fury Picture thread

Sorry, just now seeing this for some reason! I did! When he pulled into the show, I told him he could park next to me. We chatted up for a little bit. His '68 has been in his family for decades.

That just lowers the value and is a read flag, IMO... Scam all the way, F this guy. If it really sold, someone took it in the shorts.

Entire fuel system. It helps free stuck rings. Feed it a full can down the carb at RPM and then a can in the tank. What does your oil smell like? Taste gas? (yes taste the dip stick and smell it) If so you could have a bad fuel pump diaphragm dumping gas into the crank case. Ethanol gas or...

68 Newport. Tightening up the steering

No gears changed. I have tightened that screw on the top. You can feel actual play at the coupler now that i test it. Almost just need a shim in there.

I found that the 4028424 is for a 1976 and 1977 Chrysler 440....so its the correct vintage anyways
