BTW, the rim blow still works on my 71 chrysler. Even with the cracked rim. Not sure how!!

Any 70s corvette (or other GM) that uses a tilt/teloscopic wheel. Some slight modifiction is necessary if you have a cruise control. Must remove anf use the turn signal attachment from the origional switch. Testing the circuits now.

My 71 new yorker does not have them. But the turn signal switch has a provision for them. This makes replacing the switch a much cheaper option. Will go with a 70 corvette switch (tilt/teloscopic.) Much cheaper than an origional switch.

Were cornering lights optional on 1971 chryslers?

Started takong thw cruise control switch apart. It appears with a good epoxy it can be fixed.

I purchased a tilt/teloscopic steering column off 9f ebay. Even thou the steering column was well packaged, the shipper managed to brake the cruse control switch. (See pics) Is this a simple fix?

Heres the circuit diagrams for the daah light bypass and the window safety relay. I keep these in my book as an update to electrical work done. Many yrs ago when my brother had the chrysler it was caught in a flood in texas. Probably when these circuits went bad.

I was able to bypass the fuse box and test the circuit for the dash lights. They work. Will now create a new circuit with an inline fuse attaching the dash lights to the light switch rheostat.

Determined the electrical problems 1) turn signal and flasher not working on the passenger side - faulty turn signal switch in the steering column. 2) dash lights not working - defective fuse box connection for the wire going to the headlight switch. Will bypass the faulty fuse panel connection.

Continied circuit testing. Headlights work. taillights work. Brake lights work. Side marker lights work. Turn signal lights only work on the drivers side. Emergency flashers again only work on the drivers side. (Will check wiring - any ideas welcomed.) Window lift circuit works (lawn mower...

Hooked up the brake peddle and assoc light switch. Tested some of the circuits: trunk light; clock; horn : glove box light . Will finish up remaining circuits tomorrow.

I have an NOS relay for the A/C compressor for a 1972 chrysler. I have a 1971 chrysler new yorker which does not have this relay. It never seemed to be a problem without it. Should i install this relay?

Still working on the wiring. Needed to hook up the power window saftey relay. According to the wire diagram (imperial) it closes when the acc circuit is energized. Many yrs ago when my brother had the chrysler he bypassed this relay when it failed (see pic) i could not find a spare wire...
