    413 “ service life”

If it runs good then go with it. Yep, Mechanics trying to find a customer for their services. You have no idea if the speedo was ever changed or car run with speedo cable off. So don't take the dash mileage as full truth. Ever tried finding 413 pistons? Not that easy today. And if it's...

That's awesome. Thanks Big_John. Great idea.

1968 Sport Fury Convertible - how to manually lower the top question.

Pulling the pins from the hydraulic cylinders is probably the best, but another (possibly messy) option is to disconnect the 2 hoses from the pump. Use a hardware store fitting or short hose to connect them back to each other.

Testing heater box actuators with vacum

On the bench, the air conditioning door actuator can be tested. It appears to be a push/ pull apply vacuum on one hose the rod extends, the other it retracts. The heat -defroster door actuator as reported seems to fail, however when both actuators are connected into the cars vacuum system. This...

    Front drum pull

Your hose could have a slight blockage in it. There's A LOT of pressure applying the brakes but almost none releasing them. The slightest blockage will cause problems. When at all possible, change everything in pairs. I used to tell my customers you can buy just one sock or shoes. They both have...

    WANTED Air cleaner assembly

Bob, I believe the 62 and 63 413 engines used the same air cleaner. (maybe others too) Yours very well could be original to your car. I only know for sure, the one I have came off of a 63 Dodge 413 engine. Not sure what happened to your snorkel. Maybe someone added a hose or tubing from the core...

    76 NYB stalls

Fuel pump pushrod or fuel pump is my bet, but it also could be ignition related. Bad coil or bad pickup in the distributor can do that. Possibly ECU box too. Check the fuel by disconnecting the fuel line at the carb and sticking a piece of hose on the end. Also disconnect the coil wire so...

Interested in your thoughts on one low compression cylinder

Have you changed the oil since you had it? How long did istay clean? Is the choke adjust right, or does it blow black smoke when cold? Try this, spray a small amount of atomized water spray from a hose nozzle down the carb with it hot and running 1200 rpm. Do it 5 times about 4 seconds at a...

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Hoses are measured by the ID rather than OD. ID is what's stamped on them.

    Edelbrock 1906 jetting

I would replace the fuel filter, 1st. If it's gurgling that could indicate a problem. NAPA 3032 is 5/16 line and good quality. It has an arrow on the side because it is one-way. I would then disconnect the fuel hose at the carb. Hold the fuel hose in a jar. Have an assistant turn the ignition...

    '66 Newport 2 Door hardtop

Well, I got most of the new AC lines mocked up (not crimped yet) but I was shorted two fittings for the hose going from the compressor to the condenser, so that's not ready yet. Anyway, it was about $200 for the hoses and fittings and $100 for the crimping tool. Almost there! All of these...

    Coolant Leak/Engine issues

Hello, I have a 1967 Plymouth Fury III 383 V8 Commando with A/C. I’m working on fixing a coolant leak from the lower radiator hose when I noticed there was coolant dripping from the third belt closest to the oil pan. Its dripping from the belt and the circular thing (I’m not sure what it is-...

If you look in the picture you can see one of the vacuum tubes that is disconnected. it also looks like my plastic hose coming through the firewall is broken on the end. like it should be attached to something.

65 Fury stock brakes pull to the right

THANK YOU for raising that point! Swollen hoses devil many drivers long before they're discovered. The REAR hose often causes the most damage, as people neglect to change it when they change the front pair. If ONE hose has swollen near shut, its a good idea to change all 3, especially if one...
