    69 lost keys...

I had an issue several years ago where I locked the keys to my Newport in the trunk at a show. I called AAA and they sent out a mobile locksmith who was able to use their tools to read the locks and make new keys for the ignition/doors and for the trunk. The cost was $170, but it's probably...

Hood release and Parking brake release - reversed?

I think it's there for that very reason... Kinda.... It wasn't unusual for someone to leave the car with a valet or garage. I always remember my Dad handing over just the ignition key so they couldn't get into the trunk (didn't have the power trunk releases ) where he always had his tools, so...

    1958 Trunk and glovebox keys

Does anyone know if the trunk key is exactly the same as the one for the glovebox for '58 Mopars? I mean EXACTLY... not like some older GM cars where the glovebox only uses half of the length of the trunk key. What I am trying to do is get a key made off the glovebox lock, in hopes of it working...

    69 lost keys...

Closing out on this. I ended up buying an nos lock cylinder with keys. The locksmith was a flake but did not charge me for the door keys. I did have to retrieve the trunk lock in pieces. So I need to sort that but I currently have a different key for the ignition than the doors. My main point...

    A key question

Thanks for the info, the cylinder has a hole at 10, looks like you'd push in a tab to get it out. Haven't tried that but did find a place locally that can key it. I called Jessers Classic Keys in OH but they didn't reply. I talked to the guy i bought the car from, he lost the keys, but he...

    69 lost keys...

No keys at all. I did find out we have a local locksmith that has been in the same spot for 50 years. Im hoping I can take him a door lock and the trunk lock this week and get keys. The car will probably not be here long so I need a quick solution but I appreciate the offer. I may end up loaning...

    69 lost keys...

Well, The saga continues.. I took a door lock and the trunk lock down to a locksmith shop and he successfully cut the door lock but could not get the trunk lock. It seems there might be a blockage at the rear, which he is going to work on. He did wonder if I had the wrong blank.. since the key...

    69 lost keys...

You can have a key made from either the door or ignition lock cylinders. I believe that it’s nearly impossible (never say never) to get the lock cylinder out of the ignition switch without a key. That’s why people are suggesting or saying to get a key made from the door lock cylinder.

    69 lost keys...

If you don't have the ignition key, then you can't use the door locks either. I would take either the door lock or ignition into the lock smith. If you don't have the trunk key, get that done too. IMHO, the cost of replacing the door locks and the ignition tumbler will be more than getting...

    Ignition and door lock cylinders

I actually didn’t do anything to the locks because the car came to me this way. The trunk lock cylinder works fine as well as the ignition cylinder. The only ones that I am having trouble with are the door lock cylinders.

65 4 door all doors stuck, cant open

Just in case you're not aware; from this era, Chrysler used two different keys: one for the doors and ignition, and one for the trunk and glovebox.

Lost my #%@in' keys! '77 NYB

Glad you found your keys! FWIW, a locksmith can come to your car, read your locks, and cut keys on the spot. I had to have that done a few years ago when I locked the keys in the trunk. I've since made several copies and have them in both of my dailies.

    Stuck door locks

Well the seat bottom was missing already and I pulled seat back to look in the trunk for keys or seat backs.... I'll pull the panel. I wasn't sure about getting it off with the door closed.

1972 Newport custom interior parts PN#

The best thing to do is download the parts manual from Parts Manuals – MyMopar as @CBODY67 mentioned. Regarding the keys matching, you can do a couple things. First is to take your trunk key to a locksmith with your glovebox lock and have them change the tumblers. That would be the...

    1967 Chrysler newport

A little advice, the car has been sitting quite a while and has been through a flood. Given that, before you spend a lot of hard earned money on moving it and then buying parts, take a hard look at the underside of that car. Since it looks sunk down into the dirt, you need to look at the...

1962 Imperial - Trunk locked, no keys

Hi there, I have a 1962 Imperial Crown, 4 door that I bought in February. It came without keys. I was able to find a new core & key for the ignition, but I have no way to open the trunk. I don't have keys for the doors or the glove box either (which is locked). I thought about taking a drill...
