    Piston diagnosis

Detonation will do that. Detonation tends to damage the edge of the piston while pre-ignition damages the center. Here's a pic showing more severe damage.

Shock recommendation for added ride height?

Guys, thanks all for the info. Yes, CBODY67, I do have a Factory Service Manual, it came with the car. There is a spring/suspension shop near me that added leafs to my F250 diesel when I mounted a plow on it. Will take the T&C there, at a minimum they will do the new shocks. Thanks again...

Shock recommendation for added ride height?

The car raises just like if it had a coil spring and you put a spacer under it. The weight of the car has not changed, it's just sitting higher. The amount of deflection in the bar didn't change. The bar isn't twisted more just like the coil spring wasn't extended when you put a spacer under it.

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 convertible (silver, $11k ask in Memphis TN)

Actually, it was originally EA4 (silver), according to the fender tag that @70 Sport Suburban just shared with me. I will post it as soon as I get permission to do so. Update: permission granted by the seller, so here is the tag of CM27T0C123748

Shock recommendation for added ride height?

By twisting the bar, is the car not being raised by the increased spring rate/pre-load? No need to get into the heat treat or other issues to explain this, as all of those other issues are "common" situations. As the amount of weight the bar is designed to "hold" remains unchanged. Just...

    Piston diagnosis

LOTS of carbon on that piston crown. Was the carburetor running rich all of the time? As there is no clean spots near the edges, looks like the oil rings were still working pretty good. Otherwise, the outer edges would be "washed' clean. Any performance issues with that engine? Just...

Shock recommendation for added ride height?

By twisting the bar, all you are doing is raising the car. You aren't changing the material or heat treat, nor are you changing the length or diameter. These are what determines spring rate.

Anyone have more info on the 67-68 Fury police push bumper bar?

Yes, GEM was the brand name for the "high-rise" bumper guards. Available in a more-universal kit than specific-fit situations.

Anyone have more info on the 67-68 Fury police push bumper bar?

From what I learned in the 1980s or so, what Texas used then was a push bar built by a California company. Not OEM, but aftermarket specifically for the police car market. If a replacement was needed, the company in California was the only place to get them. Not sure exactly how that company...

Anyone have more info on the 67-68 Fury police push bumper bar?

Those look like the Bumper Guards made my Gem. I bet Chrysler sourced them from them. They were sold at automotive accessory stores. The one and only option on my 1971 Fury I was (M85) Front and rear bumper guards. They did not look like those. The company in NY that made better quality bumper...

    What is this wagon?

The original place I heard the "Pacifica" name was on a concept car Chrysler build in the later 1990s, "Father of Magnum" that was on a fwd LH platform with 300M front sheet metal. Never saw production, for some reason. The later Pacifica model was Daimler's version of that car, but too wide...

Anyone have more info on the 67-68 Fury police push bumper bar?

In 1970, Chrysler offered factory front and rear bumper guards as they are on my build sheet.

Anyone have more info on the 67-68 Fury police push bumper bar?

Very interesting. Looks like it could be made "in-house". We used regular bumper guards on our Precinct cars and "loading dock bumpers" on our Highway cars until we went to more formal push bumpers on all the cars in the early 90's. We now ONLY use them on Highway cars because we found on a...

Anyone have more info on the 67-68 Fury police push bumper bar?

Saw ZedR's post about a Texas Highway Patrol 68 Fury that he acquired, and it had this front bumper bar that I've seen in maybe one or two pics floating around on the net, but otherwise not much info: Anyone got more info on these? Doubt they'd stop an animal collision but I think they look cool...
