1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

So, I see you have what looks like a cream colored 66 Sport Fury. Many years back I had one that I sold to a guy in Bayonne, NJ. He didn't keep it long and although we are on opposite coasts I'm wondering if it could be my old 66 SF. Mine was in a collision when it was a few years old and had...

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

Sorry Vert is short for Plymouth Fury III Convertible. I wouldn't advise gluing the guides to the pin. There should be a little wiggle room for the guides to pivot on the pin as the window is rolled up and down the track.

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

No worries bud. I am doing my first real restoration ever, and I got the car of my dreams, that has allowed me MANY opportunities to learn, whether I wanted to or not. I tried the obvious , easy way, of just putting the slide on, and using a plastic pry bar, forcing it into the track, but no...

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

Sorry for being vague. I haven't done that job on a classic MOPAR and the GM ones I have done were as simple as attaching it to the glass and snapping it in. I'm glad other guys chimed in to help.

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

Appreciate the input. What is a Vert? Yeah the guides are both thicker than original ( mine broke, leaving one side behind for comparison) and the pin is longer, so I will be having to sand down the slides, and cut of about 1/8th inch of the pin.. should i glue them together? the Pin and the slides?

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

Appreciate the input.I have the interior door panel exposed, I have the owners manual, but it's just kinda confusing to me (this is my first real classic that I have done any wrenching on) as the manual shows the interior of the door, as if that inside panel has been removed. I am confident I...

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Drivers Window Slides replacement

I second that. I have a 66' vert and ended up removing the window frame, the piece with the triangular vent/wing window, to get the new sliders in. You don't have to pull it all the way out, just enough so the window guides slide in the slot. Also, be sure not to mess up the remote side mirror...
