    found vacuum leak??? Ideas???

Part of diagnosis is "try and see", so cap the metal tap on the power brake vacuum tree and plug the other hose. Pre-made vac caps can be found on the "HELP!" racks at auto supplies. Usually in a multi-size cap package. For vacuum lines, golf tees or similar can work. The other thing is "How...

Nick in crank journal, machine shop or??

Also when you reassemble put some 3/8 hose on the rod bolts when you install the rods and pistons in the block to keep from nicking the crack again.

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Well, unfortunately, the last person used heater hose instead of vacuum hose, so it's not correct to begin with.

    Power Steering Pump

The old power steering pump is a TRW, it has the big divut in the back and the larger shaft. I've went forward with the federal. It is a whole can of worms for sure. From having to use different pulleys, to bracket mods. Now the thing that is holding me back is the federal pump uses an O ring...

    Shocks

The listing for rear shock is too short, You should go the longer shock, 24" KG5413 KYB rear. KG4507 KYB front. Install 72 dodge pick up truck rear brake flex hose to allow max drop of axel to remove wheels easy. The listed c-body hose is too short and when you lift car the hose gets stretched.

    Wanted: Fuel Sending Unit

When you DO get a replacement, DO ensure the lever arm with the float on it matches the length and bends of the OEM sender. Many have posted of their new sender not reading correctly when it is installed. Plus ensuring the special hose clamp at the sender is replaced with a new one or "made...

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Does it take the same size hose as the later stuff? The later uses 11/32" heavy wall brake booster hose.

Stock temp gauge reading versus actual temp - 1963

Using your wireless probe, provided the metal in the car body would not deflect the signal, you might wire-tie it to the upper radiator hose and put some heat-shielding insulation around it?

Repetitive Fuel Leak 69 Chrysler 300

Never have seen that issue. The/any OEM production clamps work fine. I ALWAYS get OEM-level hose by Gates (what used to be Gates Green Stripe, back then), though, to ensure what I get is OEM-level or above. Just my experiences, CBODY67

question on transmission line cooler hose

I installed a aftermarket add on transmission cooler with the lame supplied little fabric in it X pattern type gas line hose, it blew out (split) at over 100+ mph and sprayed ATF all over my windshield at that speed. Use good hose as I suspect at high speeds the pressure can get very high. I...

68 Newport, can i use a non ac heater core in an ac car?

I am having a similar issue with my ‘69 Newport. Non a/c. I turned the heat on for the first time in 25years. I noticed the windshield fogging over. As I switched from heat to def and back seitching the fan speed I noted stream coming thru the heat vents. When I turned off the heat the steam...

1972 Dodge Polara 360/904 going to a 727 transmission conversion coolant lines questions.

Just got my rebuilt 727 and 904 (that I may list for sale if anyone is interested) from the shop and now its time to prepare to plop it in. When I was removing the coolant lines I accidentally twisted one of the stubborn fittings but it was for the best since once of the previous owners swapped...

What to do? Coolant leak 69 318.

Does the casting have a hair-line crack in it? Agree that the clamp should be on the smooth part of the nipple, with the end of the hose extending just past the clamp. CBODY67

    Vacuum trunk release

It's either one or the other - unless the can itself is leaking, the diagnosis will be the check valve. Put a vacuum gauge on the one hose (from engine side) and plug the other hose. Run the vacuum up to 15 lbs and watch to see if it falls and how long it takes. The hoses and lock itself...

    A/C Rebuild 69 Chrysler 300

For some reason both of my 69 Parts Manuals only show Valiant, Dart & Barracuda parts info for under the hood items. Without having it apart are there green o-rings for every hose connection or are some metal to metal flairs? Receiver/Drier - NOS or something new available? Thx
