No but I could send a picture this was what it looked like before engine install motor mount was already on drivers side

    Vent wing motor removal

Hard to see in the pic, but it looks like you've already removed the motor from the bracket. I'm trying to remember how I did mine... It seems to me that I loosened the lower track mount (the one that goes through the bottom of the door) and just pushed it out of the way. I know it didn't take...

    Why was there a motor-mount change from '65 to '66 ?

...parts books. In each of the parts books, you can look to see what goes where, as to engine block brackets and insulators (rubber motor mounts). In many cases on C-bodies, only the lh mount is unique in C-body cars. The B-body and C-body items on the rh side are usually the same. At the...

    Horrible hackjob

Yeah, the angle iron was tac welded to rear of subrame for *new* trans crossmember. The idler arm had bolt tac welded to keep from falling out after they bent mount down in order to clear SBC oil pan rear sump.

    You be the judge.

You’re right, it should have been hot tanked. The machine shop clearly didn’t do that. Can’t trust anyone these days. Overall, the motor runs strong no complaints with that. Next time I’ll just buy a Blueprint crate motor and be done with the monkey business.

Replacing "Floating Power" Engine Mounts with '79-'93 Dodge Truck Mounts

I would suspect that degraded motor mounts would lower the front of the engine, rather than tilt it rearward. Considering the rear transmission mount would be the pivot point in that 3-point mounting situation. Definitely a great idea you have! Please keep us posted, CBODY67

    1965 frame

The 65 C Body has a unique one year driver side (only) motor mount setup. Instead of trying to describe it, see the Shumacher website that has some good illustrations of the difference. It is not a huge difference, and probably a little welding can make it work - lots easier than getting a whole...

    1965 frame

The only other difference is that column mount transmission selectors are essentaily a holdover for pushbutton shifters. If the swap retains that shifter, a column swap will fix it, since you are not using the original transmission anyway. M

    Vent wing motor removal

Thank You! That sounds like a god idea. They should have written that in the shop manual. Both vent motors are stuck. I hear a click but nothings happen

    1968 Fury questions

Can I use the same sub frame that’s in my 68 Fury with a 318 to change to a 383 or 440. Is it just a motor mount change and a transmission mount?

    Engine Swapping the Slant 6

Thank you for clearing that up Travis, I guess I will have to see what is involved in fabbing up those perches. I imagine I could get it done with a lot of swearing and beer.

Replacing "Floating Power" Engine Mounts with '79-'93 Dodge Truck Mounts

Good point. I guess the transmission mount on the car I borrowed engine mounts from could have been very worn, causing the engine to tilt rearward and deforming the engine mounts over time. Anyway I will keep them level. Much easier to work with. Thanks. I am using the mount in the middle in...

Questions about this rare abandonned chrysler 300k

...covered in the appropriate Chrysler engine paint color. Although a real 413 block might need to be used if there are any year-specific motor mount issues as the 1965s had. As to brakes, might need to find a rebuilder that can do some modern-friction linings on the existing brake shoes. To...

Can I change the oil pump relief spring in the car?

...I changed the whole oil pump on my Imperial in my parents‘ driveway in 15* weather. It wasn’t too terrible, you do have to remove both motor mount bolts and jack it up some, but I was able to get the pump assembly out- might be an option if you can’t get to just the relief spring end cap...

440 swap or build the 383?

...- would it be a better idea to do these same upgrades to a 440 and stab that in? I understand there is potentially fab work and the left motor mount needs to be addressed but there are easy solutions for that. I have done engine swaps before so not too concerned there. My question is if I...
