What to Replace when Redoing interior HVAC components?

Thanks. I looked up "vacuum gun" and the ones I found on the internet were for sucking liquid out of tight places. Can you give me a name and model of a vacuum gun meant to test car vacuum operated devices?

What to Replace when Redoing interior HVAC components?

IMHO... If it's working, leave it alone. Any "new" reproduction stuff isn't going to be as good. NOS should be better in theory, but realistically NOS stuff is sometimes an expensive crap shoot. If the hoses are still pliable, they will probably last longer than new ones.

360 LA "rear" intake water port

Hello, I have this dual plain air gap intake for my 360LA and I noticed that on the drivers rear it has a 3/8npt water port coming from the rear cylinder water port. My question: can I use this for the heater hose if it wont interfere with the distributor or should this be plugged? It would...

Bake booster to Vacuum canister hose size.

Well, I got the new hose today. However, I have a hard time believing that this 11/32" hose is correct for this. I tried to get it on the fitting, but it is just too small to fit. This new hose I have is clearly marked as 11/32". I've shown pictures of the 5/8" heater hose that was on there...

    Lares PS Pump #12122

It's a 65 Fury III, this would be the third time it's been rebuilt that's why my thought was to just get a new Federal Style. I think I found the correct bracket, just need the pully and maybe a cap? Also not sure if hose connections will be the same.

Crush washer on front drum rubber line to brake cylinder?

I recall when still driving with the single pot on Mathilda I'd failed to properly tighten the driver side wheel cylinder hose properly, and sure as **** lost plenty brake fluid. Thank the Lord, I'm a practiced stopper sans brakes, which I did when the pedal bottomed, using the transmission and...

Thermal expansion valve with sanden style compressor

So does that coiled up bit at the end of the tube just rest on top of your new hose and then you apply the black goop to insulate it?

Repetitive Fuel Leak 69 Chrysler 300

I'll have to go and check the size. It may be incorrect but if it is it's also incorrect on the other end which isn't leaking. It's weird that I don't have any other leaks at any of the other rubber to steel connections. It's also weird that fuel flows out of both the vacuum side and the...

    AC still leaking, sad.

That AC hose looks compromised to where its fitting is crimped on. New ones can be made. Finding a good used one that doesn't show swelling and damage in that area will be fine, too. Most of those AC systems were identical for the same body styling years (such as 65-68), with very few changes.

    The Road to Carlisle

The water pump has been resealed, the thermostat was replaced, the housing, cleaned and painted and the heater hose nipples were cracked loose.

    413 “ service life”

If it runs good then go with it. Yep, Mechanics trying to find a customer for their services. You have no idea if the speedo was ever changed or car run with speedo cable off. So don't take the dash mileage as full truth. Ever tried finding 413 pistons? Not that easy today. And if it's...

1968 Sport Fury Convertible - how to manually lower the top question.

Pulling the pins from the hydraulic cylinders is probably the best, but another (possibly messy) option is to disconnect the 2 hoses from the pump. Use a hardware store fitting or short hose to connect them back to each other.

Testing heater box actuators with vacum

On the bench, the air conditioning door actuator can be tested. It appears to be a push/ pull apply vacuum on one hose the rod extends, the other it retracts. The heat -defroster door actuator as reported seems to fail, however when both actuators are connected into the cars vacuum system. This...
