    Power Brake Booster rebuilder found

Since I live in Southern California, I use Karps Brake Service in Chino for most all of my brake rebuilding services. They are very good at what they do and he also has skilled workers in his shop to get the work done on a timely basis. I have never had an issue with them in some 35 years now...

1961 Chrysler Brake Booster Rebuild Kit

...Power Brake Exchange (Power Brake Exchange - Rebuilts You Can Rely On Since 1959) is NOT the same company as Booster Dewey (Vacuum Brake Boosters | Power Brake Booster Exchange, Lynwood). My booster is getting rebuilt at Exchange, located in San Jose, after hearing they did good service more...

brake booster rebuilt, now brakes are WAY TOO sensitive!

I see the term or phrase "with Field Installed Hydro-Vac" associated with this booster. Regarding that, @68plymouth383 said this: "The field installed refers to the optional boosters available for 65-68. If a car from the factory had manual brakes the dealer ship would install a field...

    400 with a 440 transmission mix-n-match issue?

When I bought this car at a local auction whoever had this car last was trying to do some sort of disc brake conversion, but it was a mess and lots of parts were either missing or didn't make sense. I think they were trying to adapt a bowtie set up, but there was half a SSBC kit with it. I was...

4 Wheel Manual Drum to Front Power Disc Conversion Questions

I removed the power brake apparatus from our '68 after a short time, replacing it with a nice manual Bendix clone master and the manual pedal from our '66. I still have that power **** in my locker, including that ragged old booster. Mind you, this power assembly was for powered drum brakes...

My New (to Me) 73 Imperial LeBaron

Very nice car, especially like the colors! The brake booster is a Midland-Ross dual diaphragm, specific to Imperial and not found on lesser Mopars that used Bendix boosters. I've used Power Brake Exchange (Booster Dewey) in Mountlake Terrace (Seattle, WA) to rebuild my boosters for years...

4 Wheel Manual Drum to Front Power Disc Conversion Questions

This application would of had 4 bolts to hold the master cylinder in place. Most were studs welded to the pedal brackets which sometimes got twisted off or if bolts, someone installed only two of them. The correct disc brake booster is a Bendix dual diaphragm unit and it will take a power...

    Brake booster issues

...booster. Any C body booster from 1965 to 1978 will bolt in, though it would not be wise to use one of the small diameter '65-'68 drum brake boosters. The disc brake wagons all came standard with dual diaphragm boosters, but a large single would work just fine, unless maybe you want to tow a...

Wow! That is good to know. Thank you very much for letting me know that. Good morning guys. Thank you for the replies to my post. Please dont be offended if I did not reply to your comments as the pop-up advertisements are covering up most of what I can see.

brake booster rebuilt, now brakes are WAY TOO sensitive!

Wayne the RamManInc has put out some absolutely "passionate" video's about boosters and explaining the brake system in general. But I haven't seen any explanation as to what happens if the push rod is not adjusted correctly - by a lot or even just a little bit. Is it that you don't want the...

    Brake booster issues

If the brakes were self-applying, without foot movement, might that mean the existing brake fluid had become contaminated? Which would be evident with expansion of the rubber diaphram on the bottom of the master cyl top. Just a random thought as you mentioned "self-apply". No more, no less...

brake booster rebuilt, now brakes are WAY TOO sensitive!

I've seen my booster on several '66s, and in most all cases, they were cars assembled in Delaware (as mine is). It's possible that it was a "field replacement" for a failed original booster, but there's no way for me to know that. It's a Bendix 9" single diaphragm designed for 4 wheel drum...

Manual brakes, adding a brake booster

...the correct parts from a donor car. You would be advised to have the brake booster rebuilt so avoid problems with a used unit. I would suggest that you also source the correct new master cylinder for the same reason. www.powerbrakebooster.com does a good job of rebuilding brake boosters...

Bendix tandem disc booster vs. Midland Ross tandem disc booster (Imp. SW)

IF the boosters were used somewhat interchangeably by Chrysler, they would all have very similar performance characteristics. Which would be listed in the specs section of the Brake section of the appropriate Chrysler factory service manual. If they were used in different years on the same...

1965 New York Brake Booster replacement

@CitroDog -- like @darth_linux I can vouch for Booster Dewey and Booster Steve at the Power Brake Booster Exchange. I've had several boosters rebuilt by either of them in the past 6 years, with many thousands of miles on several of the rebuilt units: their work is excellent. Would love to see...
