    400 with a 440 transmission mix-n-match issue?

...disc kit for mine, but think if I do so, I'll adopt the master cylinder used in my '83 D150. That truck proves that folks DO NOT NEED brake boosters to effectively run Mopar disc brakes on a heavy vehicle. The discs used on that D150 are the same as those used on the Formal C bodies too. I...

4 Wheel Manual Drum to Front Power Disc Conversion Questions

I know there is a ton of information out there on this but I was hoping to get some help specific to my car. It is a 1965 Dodge Polara with the single pot of death 4 wheel manual drum. I bought the Leed brake kit FC2003-8405 which converts to power front disc. I have already installed rotors...

    1962 Brake Booster

If you are willing to send your booster to be rebuilt, there is an excellent rebuilder here in Southern California and I have sent him many boosters including many from my Forward Look cars and even one for my 1962 Chrysler 300H. Here is a link to a discussion of his services/work on this site...

    power brakes

I appreciate your concern. I was aware that the drum booster might not provide desired power assist and that the drum master cylinder reservoir volume might not be compatible with the disc brakes. But my biggest concern was the master cylinder piston travel not providing enough volume under all...

    Disc brake conversion kits

I have been surprised how good the American chrysler drums were even in 1969... I have also entertained the thought of a conversion kit, only because more modern cars use disks, and the local Australian drums were pretty rubbish.. But my 69 Newport stops just fine, and even the state mechanic...

    69 Chrysler brake booster question

As many others will also tell you, the best solution is to have the original rebuilt by Vacuum Brake Boosters | Power Brake Booster Exchange, Lynwood also known as "Booster Dewey". No guess work, unbolt it, send it, bolt it back on when it comes back. It will fit because it came off the car.

    Booster Woes

Just checked RockAuto and they are "Out of Stock" on power drum and power disc brake boosters. Including the "Cardone" brand and others. All of them. Might have to take what you can get.

    NEED HELP!

The second picture is the somewhat common (to me) Midland-Ross booster that was used on a huge amount of 1965-1967 (maybe as late as 1968) C-body cars with drum brakes. At the time, they were common as everything. This was also back when the power front disc brake cars had the similar, but...

    65 300 Brake Booster

...C body disc brake systems had a Bendix Dual Diaphragm unit. In '65, there was only really one vendor (Midland-Ross) supplying drum brake boosters for Chrysler, with perhaps a second vendor making their own to Chrysler's specs - perhaps used for warranty/field installation, which I believe...

WANTED Looking for a bendix booster for disc/drum setup.

I think so, can you post a pic of it? Can you confirm if your imperial is a disc brake car, otherwise if its power drums I cannot use it. I know there are differences between imperials disc spindles rotors and calipers but the boosters should be the same.

WANTED Looking for a bendix booster for disc/drum setup.

Of course I’ll be looking for a disc booster and yes to the dual diaphragm. Thanks Maybe I read this wrong but below shows which boosters I can use based on a post from this site. I have a center console shift car not column shift .

Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

Thanks! As I was reading your previous post, I was wondering how the boost could be calculated without knowing hte vacuum input and the brake pedal force input. Looking at the page you linked, I see they used some 'average values' to get there. (which is fine) A person could push 1 foot on a...

WANTED Looking for a bendix booster for disc/drum setup.

What makes you think you can use a drum brake booster? From my research, disc brakes need twice as much boost as do drum brakes. Hence the dual diaphragm.

    Brake booster issues

I'm a mechanic by trade and have worked on LOTS of brakes and brake problems and this one seemed pretty straightforward but it's not turning out that way. I've changed a handful of boosters over the years but have never run across anything like this. again what's the interchange on a booster...

brake booster rebuilt, now brakes are WAY TOO sensitive!

I have a '65 Sport Fury with the same MC after I converted from single bucket to dual. It's a '67 Mopar MC from Rockauto (Rayspestos) if I recall properly. I've had it for 6 years. As for the booster... sounds like something was not done correctly. Sensitivity is one thing... the pedal not...

Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

...stars align, woo hoo! Thanks for noticing that that one was available. I can't believe this vintage of the c bodies is entering the land of "ancients", where you can't readily get run of the mill stuff like brake boosters. It's a '69 Plymouth, not a '43 Talbot Lago Emperor or something, jeez!
