    69 polara trunk mat

This gives me a perfect excuse to show @Samplingman my bowling ball bag. Again. For maybe the tenth time!

    Rubbing Belts?

Maybe these diagrams might help the conversation. From a 1970 Chrysler FSM, which means these should all be big-blocks. Apparently there is a single belt application. Who knew?

    Rubbing Belts?

    Criminally insane tomfoolery.

    The Hurst Registry

Manny, I got that Fender Tag pic from new member @mrd5_psu earlier today. The VIN puts the Door Date firmly in June, BTW. Mr. mrd5 went to look at the car (because he's looking for a Hurst to go with his '70 New Yorker that he's had for many years) but couldn't open the door because it was...

    Rubbing Belts?

Yeah, that's the only compressor pulley that I've ever seen. Definitely some tomfoolery going on there. Do you have an unused groove on the crank pulley? You'll need it! Here's how you remove the pulley from the shaft. Easy as can be, but you must have the bolt that's mentioned. No...

    Torsion Bar Problem

Very good suggestion, Jeff. Easy mistake to make. It seems "normal" to most folks to get everything back in place, with the arms hanging down, and tighten those shaft nuts. Even when you read the FSM it's not at all clear the reason for having full weight on the tires when you tighten 'em.

    We all do!

    The Hurst Registry

Database, huh? Darn.....I guess we're not getting anything else from him. But I'll add it to the Registry with the info we have, and maybe someday we'll get tag and door info. Thank you, Manny.

    The Hurst Registry

Manny, I might be a bit confused on 230943. I assume you're talking about the New Orleans car (and not the Finland car). And is "he" the seller in the ad?

    That would be amazing!

    The Hurst Registry

Would this be something that you could obtain Fender Tag J99XXX and Door Sticker date info from the seller? I realize this is asking a lot, but just think how good that would look in the Registry!
  12. Trace 300 Hurst

    The Hurst Registry

I'm seriously considering adding this VIN to the Registry. Maybe a few other tidbits of info might trickle in, too.
  13. Trace 300 Hurst

    The Hurst Registry

I've never seen anything on this one before.
  14. Trace 300 Hurst

    The Hurst Registry

Fascinating story! I'd love to have some Registry data and a little history about it. Maybe that information will float into this thread someday. One car at a time.....

    The Hurst Registry

It is bizarre to me that someone will go to all that trouble to clone a 'vert into a Hurst, of which there are exactly ZERO J99 'verts produced. [The famous Linda car is a normal CM27/Q 300 'vert.] It seems like so much work to build such a car. And why. For that matter, where do the hood...

    The Hurst Registry

Thanks, but I'm just the accountant. I can't find them all on my own! And thanks back at ya for steering us on these "program cars" based on your experience with other A12 stuff. This would be a lot easier if I was doing a Turbine Car registry. It would take five minutes and be forever...

    The Hurst Registry

We have 63 "J99XXX" cars to date. These are the cars I consider to be "true Hursts". This excludes the Prototype car and the Linda car, which are not J99 cars. I have a list of about 275 Hurst VINs (a little over half the total production), but with no other data such as J numbers or door...

    The Hurst Registry

We have two new additions to the Registry, thanks to the sharp eyes of @Lycidias. He tried to get the Door Sticker date for 235899 from the seller, but unfortunately they did not respond to his inquiry. It remains the "newest" Hurst in the Registry. Both of these new listings are in Europe...

    The Hurst Registry

Thank you for that information! I just added your discovery of 228762 that was for sale in Germany and I'll post an updated Registry later today. It will include your Poland find from a month ago, 235899, which is still the "newest" car in the Registry. I do not have a 226762, but I do have a...

Has the RV2 compressor an oil pump?

I have never seen that oil pump cover seal in "green", but I wonder if it's necessary. Is it available, somewhere? Probably. Nearly ALL o-rings and other such things are in "industry standard" sizes. No manufacturer wants to make a unique seal, bearing, fasteners or other such hardware, and...
