Son, don't kid yourself. If polio was as rampant today as covid was the same people would be calling it a government conspiracy and refusing the vaccine.

Folks were better educated at that time and not foolish to think that not getting vaccinated they were somehow owning someone.

Brakes creaking? What's the spring the encircles the drum for ? 57 Belvedere

Check the FSM for where the return springs hook into the brake shoes. If I remember correctly either the front or the backs hook onto the loop like your shoe above. In other words one set the return springs hook into the loops and the other set hooks into the hole in the web that is visible...

I see nothing in FSM on the door stops and how they work?

From the factory the bracket on the door jamb that has the pin going through the flat strap is spot welded to the door jam, there is nothing else beyond that. I edited both my posts because I gave you bad information on how the door check works. The detent that I mention is the piece on the end...

I see nothing in FSM on the door stops and how they work?

First off there is no spring and the door stop has nothing to do with any of the hinges. If your other doors stay open than I assume you know there is a "detent" at fully open that keeps the door open. Are you pushing it all the way open? I put a thin coating of grease on the flat rod. Got new gas tank today, how far should the pickup AND float be from the bottom?

NS-1 Neutral safety switch, other part #?

Page 220 in the FSM says tighten switch until electrical contact is made then tighten 1/3-1/2 turn tighter. Make sure transmission is in neutral. Make sure the concave of the spring washer faces the transmission. I thought there was a torque value on these but one did not appear in the FSM.

I guess if the above mentioned Bud Light meme made sense to the perpetually angry crowd this one would too, but still don't see the connection that you're trying to make, not that it matters to folks like you. The perpetually angry crowd don't need things to make sense, they just forward...
