    Let's talk power antennas

Here are the pics from the FSM showing the different tube lengths for Chrysler vs Imperial. There is even instructions on how to replace the mast, but like I said earlier, they are easy to break.

    Let's talk power antennas

That's the whole antenna that I have. The tube does separate and is probably interchangeable from model to model, but I think the base motor is the same. I would imagine that the Imperial antenna does fully retract into the fender with the correct tube.

    Let's talk power antennas

Here are some pics, the broken antenna is from a ‘73 New Yorker and the good one is from a ‘70 Newport, but I think they were all the same for C Bodies, ‘69-‘73. Broken: Note the string trimmer line: Here is a complete one fully retracted: Correct bezel and retainer: Here it is...

    Let's talk power antennas

The mast is connected to nothing more than a .80 string trimmer line that is reeled in or out by the drum on the side. If you push it in manually it will break the line, same if you pull it out by hand. I only know this because I destroyed mine. Also, these don't fully retract flush with the...

    Im close to going Ford

Do the big Fords have the same parts availability problems as our C bodies? After the first dozen rows of 2015+ Mustangs I was pretty much done. Mustangs and Raptors. There were some cool old Broncos and Cougars, but I did not see any Galaxie 500's, they must have left by the time I got...

    Im close to going Ford

Funny, we were at the Ford Nationals this past weekend. I was surprised at how little variety there was, but then again it is the 60th anniversary of the Mustang. Lots of great cars, but we were more interested in the T Birds, but I did find my dads old wagon on display. If I were to get...

69 Chrysler 300: Low beam & parking lights/head light doors not working

If I’m not mistaken, the headlight doors open when there is a burnt out headlight. The ground runs through the filament, so when that happens the doors open and stay open so you can address the problem.

1970 300 Convertible Top Cylinders and Frame Connection

Ok, I have thumbed through the assembly manuals and the FSM and the internet, but I cannot find a picture or diagram of how the power top cylinders connect to the top frame. Does anyone have a pic of or an FSM page number where I can find this information? I'm also missing a small spring...

So you don't have $2,000 to get your steering wheel restored.......but, do you have $65 and reasonable expectations?

Nice work! How did you get the stitching so perfect on that leather?

Josh Gates and the Raiders of the Lost Production Records

Very funny. Hard to be a contemporary with a fictional character from the 1930's, but whatever. I thought this was a real outreach with a former Chrysler exec. Those missing documents are probably at the bottom of a local landfill. Best bet is to grab a shovel and start digging.
