Pictures of my air conditioner bolt problem

You seem to have misunderstood me so let me clarify. I've checked my '75 FSM and this is all it says about removing the compressor: Does not include any diagrams with brackets so that's why I said the FSM isn't of much use here. @spstan probably goes without saying but just to be safe, do...

Pictures of my air conditioner bolt problem

I think the point @413 was trying to make is that the A/C compressor isn't mounted directly onto the engine block. Instead, there are some brackets on top of the block and one on the front and the compressor is mounted in between those. The bolt you have a wrench on behind the compressor is the...

    My 76 New Yorker …

Turn up the metering rods in that carb and it'll cure your hesitation. Vacuum that operates the A/C isn't a big enough leak to impact engine running.

    Darn remote mirrors

I've found that both of my remote door mirrors have very little range of motion. However, when aiding the mirrors movement a little by pushing on the corners a bit they have plenty range. The cables must be binding internally but I've yet to find a good wat to lubricate those.

Haven't seen many NY coupes with this style vinyl tops and now I know why. Something just looks off to me.

Is anyone else depressed looking at new vehicles?

To be fair, even my '75 Imperial buzzes at me if I don't have my seatbelt buckled.

Cat whisker, fuzzies, whatever you call them installation

What was your issue with installing them? Edit: I just saw your post in the other thread where you've explained it. The ones I got for my Imp also had some misalignment but nothing as bad as yours.

Meet Ming, my 1973 New Yorker Brougham

Ooohh, it seems I've made a false assumption. When I pulled the factory original carpet out of my Imperial it had a thick jute layer but as I understand now, that's standard on all carpets and the mass backing option is just the 45 mil thick layer in between?

Formal wheel opinion - Factory wheel covers or Chrome Road Wheels??

I don't think there are. My parents have one of those vans and stock rims have quite a bit of backspacing and are narrower. I'm assuming those just bolted right on there. And they really do look good on it. Those whitewalls work with it.

    Carpets?

From this I gather you didn't get the extra mass backing nor additional sound dampening. Could either you or @71Polara383 eloborate on why not?
