So what to do when Poly parts are tough to find. Follow the Rodney Dangerfield Poly manual... Buy a cheap 360 and have the crank turned down to 318 specs. Bore the block to 4.000 and throw the whole kit a caboodle in... Sounds easy on paper, but I can assure you its not! Still getting it done...

Yep we did the 402ci thing with tons of help from the Guru that is Gary Pavlovich. 1965 Sport Fury and it run like a scalded cat! Just rebuilt a 318 Poly for my 66 Coronet and got a freebee Poly for my 64 D200 truck. Happy days for the Poly lovers of the UK like me!

As you probably know the 350ci was a 4 1/8 bore bigblock. Which grew to 361 the following year and then in 62 up to 383ci. That was the same block just bored out! I have one of these early 361 into 383 blocks with the correct heads which are 4 bolt covers. These are different to the 64 on head...

The early 383's were painted turquoise for the Mopars. But Jensen painted them black with silver covers, for some strange reason? Not my favourite colour but its original for Jensen CV8, Interceptor etc... This is another 1964 Cv8 engine I did a few years back.

My friends 65 Fury has a two barrel 383ci and that ran good and was cheap to run! Now its a 512ci 440 with a 950 Holley carb, runs real good up to 150mph and then it gets scary lol... Still good on gas though at around 15mpg's...

1975 fury crash test! Unlike modern cars the design and weight was an issue to the folks inside. Mass is energy and is hard to stop! Lighter cars better built with airbags etc will save you in a crash. Not every crash is someone's fault, its just an accident...
