‘65 sporty vert running poorly….need help

Big blocks are the B/RB motors. 361, 383, 400, 413, 426, 440. They have a fuel pump pushrod that is between the pump and the camshaft.

    Rebuilt 727 slipping until warm

Define warmed up. Torqueflites pump little to no fluid to the torque converter in Park and the converter will drain back after shutting off. It takes a minute to pump it back full next time you go to leave after you put it in gear and it will feel like it's slipping until it does. Easy test...

    Airr shocks & traction bars

I have caltracs, split monos and Viking double adjustable shocks on my ‘68. The B body caltracs bolt right on because the Furies use the same length spring as a B body.

    Imperial wheel help needed….

I don’t know what the difference is in the wheelhouse, size wise, between a slab and a fusey, but I had 275/60/15s on my 66 New Yorker with 15x8, 4" back space. They cleared the skirts, but only just. You could get your fingers flat between, but both sides touched, so maybe 5/8" of clearance if...

Loosing the torsion bars and replacing the shocks with coil overs?

Okay, I did not sleep a wink last night thinking about the power rack and pinion on the Fury. So, first thing this morning I went down to the shop and removed the drag link and power steering gear box off the Fury. I have an old manual rack and pinion that I had used on the Cuda in years past...

NOT MINE 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury $2,800 Sanford, NC

Another interesting feature the owner showed me it had was code S54 automatic height control, the car has a compressor in it that raises and lowers the car, I guess through air shocks or something. Very high end car when new

    I have a confession to make…

The car went on a 360 mile road trip on the weekend through Milwaukee. It was super close to overheating in the stop and go of the big city. I’m going to install a Flowkooler water pump in anticipation of Carlisle, and the Belvidere Happening. The rear brakes are also getting thin so new shoes...

    Rebuilt 727 slipping until warm

Just to cover the bases completely... Are you checking the level in neutral with the engine at idle? About once a year I hear about the same symptoms from a fresh rebuild or a fluid change and the issue is the fluid level not being correct.

NOT MINE 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury $2,800 Sanford, NC

The final year for the optional vent windows was the 1978 model year.

    Motor Mystery

They used a 2bbl 413 in medium and heavy duty trucks well into the 70's. I also believe there were industrial 413 2bbl engines that I think were still available in the late 70's, but don't quote me on that one.

1970 Fury III disc brake caliper dragging

Before you replace the caliper, try replacing the brake close to the caliper. Sometimes the inside of the hose can break apart and not allow the fluid to fully empty out of the caliper after you release the brakes. With the quality of parts offered over the past 10 years, it is possible that...

Barn find 1969 Chrysler Newport Convertible Woody.

The guys in the youtube video are trying to cash in on the viral "Will it run & drive" tiktok/youtube videos that seem to be popping up everywhere. These guys abviously are amateurs at best as there were a lot simpler methods to getting the car out. Its all about the clicks not the restoration...

NOT MINE 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury $2,800 Sanford, NC

I think it's sold, it's the one I looked at last year. I wish I knew who bought it, I want to challenge them to a race. What do you think would win, civilian 440 or police 400? We've both got single exhaust, lean burn delete, aftermarket carburetor and ignition, the only difference is I've got a...

    Motor Mystery

When I bought my '66 the guy gave me a service manual he printed from the internet. This is where I decoded my VIN. I have some grease and grime to clean off the engine block before I can look for the stamp.

    AIR Conditioning Service

My buddy has purchased a 1968 Imperial in nice shape. It needs a little TLC and I'm hoping I can get some tips in regard to A/C. The A/C doesn't work and we have no idea when it was working if at all since the car was last updated. All the piece's appear to be there. I'm a good mechanic but have...
