    I forget the correct nomenclature. I would guess it's more of a "hesitation". When you accelerate from a stop, the engine acts like it is going to stall for a second, then works fine, especially if you let off the gas a little.

    One more thing... I think I may just go to a new Edelbrock carb, as I was thinking doing that next year anyway. Is it your opinion that the AVS2 is better than the Performer AFB? Maybe it just doesn't really make a difference for a big c-body anyway. Since I currently have a 750 cfm Carter on it...

    The last time I replaced an accelerator pump with one from Napa, the thing failed within a couple hundred miles. The valve material on the assembly looked like it was made of dried out leather. I thought a modern one from Edelbrock would work better.

    Yeah... I was told that. Apparently, the original Holley carb was replaced at the dealer in '69. Any idea what the cfm is for this Carter?

    Isn't the AVS2 a spreadbore carb, and the AFB the squarebore? Wouldn't you need to get some type of adapter to use the AVS on the stock '68 440 manifold? -Gregg B.

    Mine is a gold translucent material...kind of looks like amber. So, filling with JB Weld and painting is not an option.

    Yeah...it's not in that great of shape, as it has a couple prominent cracks. No pieces are missing though. It is one of those clear/translucent wheels in a gold/amber color, so I have the feeling I'm relegated to the most expensive options to restore it.
