I have a question about this car. There is no horn ring. Is that because it is a tilt wheel car. Both of my 66 300 do not have tilt but have the horn ring. Thanks

I don't know if the motor has ever been painted. It has been so original in disassembly. I know it was a 46 k original owner car. I never asked if he painted the motor for cosmetics.

I checked the rear today. Prepped it for removal . It did have 2 tags on it as I found eventually. On the driver side a square tab under the bolt. It reads 323. I spun the back tires before removal. Both moved the same direction so I'm thinking it's a possi/ suregrip. Then I found the second...

Zymurgy, thanks for the info. It's been great having your advise and comments. I will be sure to take off that fender tag. I plan to really only trash the rusted out steel panels. I'm even cutting out the 1/4 panels as I can use a patch on one side. Now that our cars have turned 50 this year...

Dash out in one piece today. Has an am/ fm radiò programmable. Big deal in 66'. Has power convertible top button and trim. A special dash, they only made 2500 of them like this.

Motor and trans out now. Dash is in excellent shape. I hope I can get this perfect dash pad out for the restore.

Today I looked at the rear. It appears to be possi and has the bump stop. I forget how to measure the rear gears. Rotation of the wheel to rotation of the yoke? What is the stock rear in these cars? Are they possi? All the same rear or could you order variations. 66 Chrysler 300 convertible...

Day 2 Doors off as a whole. Absolutely perfect. No rust , no dings, even door panels beautiful. My restore car has nice doors, but wow impressed with these. Perfect running 66 383 came out nice today. Trans out today as well. excellent condition down to tail seal. Dry and full of pink fluid...

Starting the tear down of the parts car. This is definitely 44 k original miles car as right down to the hose clamps it's all original. Although this frame was left for dead the parts are sweet. Even the chrome top notch for 50 yrs old.
