    Distributor pickup to 440

Ouch, hope You get it fixed and You will! At least it's nice summer weather. Then it is straight replacement and 1978 B and RB pickup parts will fit. I'm aware of only one type of pickup+baseplate combo for V8 w/o Lean Burn (example: Standard LX102). For the future, I advice universal Mopar...

    Distributor pickup to 440

Hi If it is cheap, buy it. You will probably need it in some point of Your life. 1970 is originally points distributor (with no pickup, I'm confused). The frame is the same as later models, but upper shaft and moving part of the baseplate is different. Could You share a picture of Your 1970...

Is this ignition box good or bad?

If chinese product, buy two. Install one and leave one in the trunk as a spare (along with the original). Then You have 2 spare units when chinese box fails. I have found that You can still find original boxes in swap meets in Finland. Buy every one if You see them.

78 New Yorker. climate control switches & Window electrical issues

Ok, then I would primarily recommend going through ATC diagnostics in service manual. There might be only simple bug to disable the whole system - such as vacuum leak. There's a master vacuum switch for the blower motor. If it is not getting vacuum, there's no blower. Vacuum also goes through...

Help with few things on 77 NYB

If AC is charged and disassembly is out of question, how about removing blower housing in engine compartment. Should have direct access to the core. The other side maybe accessed through blower resistor mounting hole? I have to do this also - hopefully someone can confirm that this strategy works.

78 New Yorker. climate control switches & Window electrical issues

Hi. I'm not an expert on anything. Do You have manual A/C or Auto Temp II (Does it have blower speed control switch or not)? You should check if A/C vacuum line is connected in engine compartment. Hard 1/8 line coming out of the middle of the firewall. If all fuses are also ok, the next step is...

    History of your car

I answer to myself: I got the information I needed from the site Titlecheck.us. They accepted 13 digit VIN and charged $10 for the report. Sample report of my case for an example to others. I have blurred most of the information to protect individuals. If You recognize familiar car or might...

    History of your car

I'm borrowing the old thread since I have the same issue. I'm trying to find some history of imported pre-81 Chrysler in US. Last US title exists. US license is unknown. Last owner in US is known, but does not answer. Mainly interested in Title history and in which states it has been and when. I...

New AC System Doesn't blow cold enough / 68 Polara 383

I have also seen capillary tubes taped on low side tube surface and heard them working. Factory material shows that they originally go inside thermowell immersion to avoid engine temperature to mess things up. Judging by the video, I suspect there is no possibility to get two capillary tubes...

    Auto temp 2 :(

Update and conclusion to ATC II repair from my side: I got the system working. Thank you all for your help. Further actions in engine compartment. - Reman RV2 compressor was installed by some of the previous owners. Manufactured around 2004. I installed new steel gaskets to inlet and outlet and...

    ETR valve

Hi. This might not help You anymore, but since You asked it I tested late model ETR(EPR) from 78 ATC II (Pictured in FSM page). Cooled in the freezer. The valve was rock solid at 32F, opening only small amount. In higher temperatures, stem moves freely against the spring pressure. I judge this...

    New Yorker

I answer to myself. I used SoffSeal E202. Slightly smaller than the original but still 80% bolt on job. There was up to 3/16" height difference between different batches of the seal. Glass adjustment had to be done.

    Automatic Height Control repair

Interesting comment, since I find the substitution particulary uninteresting. The replacement unit is like 1:1 original unit and bolts right on place - Just to let anyone know. After watching MTSC multiple times and taking note of every word and frame I came up with the solutions to my problems...

    Auto temp 2 :(

Has anyone rebuilt Amplifier themselves? There's only few "Through hole" components on PCB and there has to be an electrican here. If single component has been visibly fried, it could be replaced, right? There is not even potting material to be removed. PCB schematic with component information...

    Auto temp 2 :(

More information: Better picture of Defrost Actuator installed with shims. Located over the throttle pedal. Other option is to bend the bracket but I thought that would risk ripping off the heater case. My system was missing the vacuum tank initially. 71-73 Ford Vacuum Can would be very...

    Auto temp 2 :(

Easiest test: Transfer switch and recirculating door actuator. I suspect these don't fail very easily. After these the vacuum control switch and then remove the dash and refer to FSM. Check valves are at this area. They are also easy to test.

Thanks. I share my observations in case someone finds something helpful out of them. If there's any detail I can share that helps others, please let me know. I answer to my own question - Yes. The valve's internal function is as drawn. I managed to disassemble the faulty valve with pipe cutter...
