Oh, I like the idea A LOT!! Not sure I can snake it over that far while also keeping the bumper close-ish to the body, but I am sure gonna take a look... thanks!

I'm also going to have to decide if I'm cutting holes in the bumper for the exhaust or just put on some tips that turn down towards the ground. I'm leaning toward the latter.....

Worked on the rear FG bumper a bit. It's off the original steel bumper now but still needs a TON of work. The end pieces that go under each tail light are still in progress. Once I have those then I'll decide if I'm cutting the main bumper and pulling in the ends... New blingy headlights are...

Funny you should say that... with the last project vehicle I didn't notice the terrible headlights for a couple years cuz it just didn't get driven in the dark... LOL

With all the rake I've put into this car, I recently realized the headlights will pretty much be pointing at the ground. I suspect the stock adjustments will only help a little and wondering what options I might have...

Has anyone used those blingy, HID headlight conversions on their C body?

LOL!! Time will tell, she's pretty heavy in the *** end, I'm thinking wheelies instead...

Fixed front hood panel is now actually bolted in place. Nose is bolted to the Corvette front xmember... Hood fits pretty well. Still needs a little tweaking but it's bolted to the donor C5 hinges and they are bolted to the C5 frame via some brackets. Coming along... I plan to work on items that...

what I learned at summer camp.... err learned on my first attempt at making a rear bumper in FG. 1) Probably be more generous with the release agent. 2) Don't simply skip areas with the FG matt. Not only does it provide strength but also seems to keep the resin from just sliding off and making...

Structure put back into the leading edge of the hood and the hem has been folded over! It mostly works, some fine adjustments still needed.

Wow, I REALLY LIKE it!! I'm away from the internet for a few days and look what I missed! That's definitely very similar to my original idea although I always thought a little wider and covering the rear tires. But the front area is spot on... Instead I'm going for the full bodied girl. :)...

Funny you should mention that... after seeing the rear bumper in place and how outrageous it is, I was thinking I'll need to make the previously thought simple front bumper a bit more ridiculous.

Placed the rear bumper in place to see if I like it. Plan is to make one with fiberglass and probably have it wrapped in chrome-ish material...

Still pretty psyched that the hood will fit on without any holes... I think I may have to source a pair of those outrageous antennas for the trunk area.... Are those repop'd anywhere??

No going back now... Had to refine my plan for the donor piece...,. Tipping alone didn't leave all the contour, it straightened it a bit. Instead of a bend down then a bend towards the rear to form a dog leg of sorts, I only bent down and used the shrinker on that flange to put the contour back...

Ok, one slight issue... Went to put the additional section in the brake and realized it's got a contour... I can't do that with the brake, I'll need to use the bead roller and tipping die. The good news is that I have one and think I have a pretty good shot at using it successfully. However, I...

Donor hood that was staved in but FREE has been sliced. The portion I needed was straight. Next I bend it up and it gets permanently mounted (bolted) to the grill support underneath. Then I have to get brave enough to cut the original hood... I might just sleep on that cuz I only get 1 chance...

Alright, I was finally smart enough to go check the distance from the hinge point to the leading edge of the Corvette hood. It's only 2.5-ish inches, not the 5-6" I have it set to on the 1961 hood. That's the reason the leading edge goes DOWN first before coming up. It hits the threaded studs...
