    318 poly to a 383

Poly 318 same bolt pattern as small block Mopar. Short list. Trans Upper motor mount. Isolator is the same. Have to get water pump housing that exits same side as the radiator lower, but the diameter may be different. There is a spring hose that has both sizes though. Or swap the...

    This overflow line ?

On many 1972 and later C-bodies, they did get a Coolant Overflow Tank near the a/c line to the receiver/drier. Which is where the coolant level was checked rather than at the radiator cap. The coolant recovery caps had a different seal to the radiator filler neck and as the hotter coolant...

Why are parts stores part # for 1970 300 440 upper radiator hose wrong?

Maybe this would help: Lower radiator hose spring - FYI

    Coolant temp again

You said you can see the lower hose sucking in when you rev it. Is there a spring in the lower hose to keep it from going flat? Flow restriction on the inlet side can cause lots of trouble. Make sure your rad to radiator yoke is sealed or has min gaps, also no gaps in the fan shroud to radiator...

Why are parts stores part # for 1970 300 440 upper radiator hose wrong?

My own experience has been different, having replaced lower radiator hoses on 6 fusies in the past 6 years. What I got was a good fit and has had zero issue. PS: as always, check that the lower hose has an anti-collapse spring (or add one).

Follow up to my January post re '71 Imperial leaking oil...

Upper radiator hose is original, lower is an earlier replacement which I inserted the anti-collapse spring from the original hose. So, both hoses have been used on this vehicle previously. I do have a replacement upper for when the original fails.

Toyota washer bottle in a 67 Fury

Great fix when you have neither of them. I like the combo concept. I have the correct washer bottle in my 65 Sport Fury. It never had a coolant bottle so I pilfered one from a newer C body back in the early 80's when I restified my car. No idea which car it came from anymore but it fit where I...

Toyota washer bottle in a 67 Fury

Previous owner had installed these: They worked but still...I just didn't like them. The innards of the coolant bottle being filthy probably didn't help. While hunting for replacements, I came across this: It was a bit of a no brainer, either 200 bucks locally for a reproduction part that only...

Elwood - 1968 Fury II 4 door sedan

After a New Year’s holiday (and the recovery), I pulled the radiator and dropped it off at a radiator shop in Yankton, SD. I forgot to even take a picture of the radiator. Doh! Upon removing the transmission cooler lines, I twisted the passenger side line (the driver’s side had a couple of...

    Coolant temp again

I use only well sprung hoses, top and bottom on my radiator, with excellent result! I tried the molded hoses once, with piss poor results, dropped them quick, and never looked back. Ironically enough, the factory shroud for my 1965 22" 2524984 radiators has big, heavy gauge stamped steel...

NOT MINE 1972 Chrysler new yorker Brougham $10,000

sure looks like the hose collapsed. Could it just be a bad hose that cannot hold its shape after years of sitting I think the bottom hoses have spring inside but am I correct the top ones do not.

    Cooling issue '65 New Yorker

Has the block been flushed? While a good radiator and water pump are essential, a whole lot of people fail to clean the rust out of motors and that causes them to overheat. Also, it can cause head gasket failure, and, conversely, head gasket failure can cause it to overheat. To check if you...

NOT MINE 1972 Chrysler new yorker Brougham $10,000

The top hose is the return to radiator for coolant, bottom is the feed (suction) and needs the internal spring to keep it from collapsing due to the water pump suction. This being a 1972 would there be a overflow tank for the radiator on the car by that year? (puke tank) Radiator caps work via...

    Coolant temp again

When I got the 383 up and running, it was full of mud instead of water, that got flushed for about a year. And, the temps ran up to about 200F when pushed. In efforts to get it down, larger 3 row radiator copper, high flow pump and thermostat, and spring in the lower hose that was sucking a...

    Over heating

There are some things to think about and understand better with any problem. When our cars were new, they could be driven anywhere, anytime, without the concern of overheating. Sure, they could overheat, but it wasn't something to worry about. What has changed through the years? One thing...

    Looking for a radiator - 22" 1965 Chrysler

My '65 has the correct radiator (2524 983) that may well be original. I had tank seam leaks repaired a couple of times 10-15 years ago, and the 2nd time, he put a lower pressure cap on suggesting that it wasn't going to hold up otherwise. The core is so old that some of the fins have literally...

    Coolant temp again

IMHO, 195 is a good temperature. You don't mention a couple things. What is the temperature for the thermostat and what kind of gauge are you using?
