    Looking for another Unicorn

I was at a show today in Normal, Illinois. Yes that’s the name of the town. As I was leaving the show I saw a white 1974 Chrysler New Yorker 2 door with a white Landau top pull up behind me (see visual aid below). I wanted to pull over and talk to him but we got separated and by the time I...

For a change, I was not the only older Chrysler at the cruise in tonight. Thought you guys would appreciate these pictures of a beautiful 62 Chrysler 300.

    The 1973 Chrysler Thread

Would any of my fellow 73 owners be able to provide me with an OE part number/website for replacement windshield wipers. I have done several searches and can’t find a listing specifically for 73 Chrysler New Yorker. Thank you in advance.

Hello from the Dark Side (DRK SD 73)

If I wanted to disable the A/C unit, since it’s not working correctly anyway, wouldn’t removing a fuse be the easiest way to accomplish that?

Hello from the Dark Side (DRK SD 73)

The control valve - all parts that were installed are what came with the kit. Unfortunately I’m not knowledgeable enough about A/C to know if it’s the right one. Compressor cycling - I can still feel slightly cool air coming through the vent after I push the off switch. I think the air...

Hello from the Dark Side (DRK SD 73)

Over the last two years I had my entire heating & A/C systems replaced. The heat works great, the A/C doesn’t work well at all. It worked decent for the first few weeks after having it installed last year. There was a problem with a crimp on one of the fittings. I had it replaced and it...

Hello from the Dark Side (DRK SD 73)

Some recent improvements to DRK SD 73. The car spent a little time at @71Polara383’s garage. He installed Mity Mount motor mounts, a transmission mount and a torque strap. All of which combined to completely eliminate engine vibration at idle and during acceleration from a complete stop...

Taking the vinyl top off my 69 Newport

Look forward to seeing it without the vinyl top. Will you stay with the stock body color and black painted roof? I ask because my New Yorker is similar in the paint/roof color scheme. It would be nice to see what someone else’s looks like finished. I would love to get my vinyl roof...

What did you name your car?

The build date of my car is 2/28/73. One day before the release of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Since my favorite band is Pink Floyd I named the car DRK SD 73. Also, I thought the fact that the car is paint code EW1 adds a bit of irony to the name.

Hot Rod Power Tour 2025 June 9-13th

Yesterday I bought a ticket to the Joliet portion of the power tour. Since this is my first year participating I figured I’d just go for one day to see how it works. I live near Bloomington Illinois and was considering getting up early and driving to Indianapolis to caravan with other C bodies...

Shift Points for our classic cars

My 1973 New Yorker has a 440/4bbl with dual exhaust and a 727 torque flite transmission with 2.76 gears. I recently had the transmission filter/fluid changed and the kickdown band adjustment set to specs. The manual lists the following shift points for my car. All numbers represent MPH...
