Was it brown then or keyed to the interior color?

Package shelf coloration and/or source for new

I haven’t found a “for sure” source for a ‘66 Chrysler Newport rear package shelf, just various C bodies models from other years. Given that, I might make my own from hardboard, using a jigsaw. How were package shelves colored? Paint? Dye? Vinyl covering? My original is badly damaged and I...

It's As Big As A Whale! The 1972 Chrysler New Yorker

After poring over the ICMDB for a while, I found a black '66 Newport 2 door that looks JUST like my car in the 2016 movie "The Infiltrator." Given the largely unknown history of my car, and that it was originally an east coast vehicle before being auctioned and moved to Washington State in...

    '66 Newport 2 Door hardtop

I also made a short video talking about how I performed the Ammeter Bypass on my '66 Newport. Hope this helps someone out there who is considering doing this little upgrade.

Cleaning up aluminum wheels (not Mopar)

A good suggestion, but that will make the wheels worth more than the entire van, lol. I’m looking for something I can do in an afternoon without refinishing the entire wheel. I might try a scotch brite pad just to get the discoloration off.

Cleaning up aluminum wheels (not Mopar)

So I’ve got these very nice aluminum wheels on my 2008 Uplander and there’s some corrosion from where wheel weights were previously placed, and brake goo that sat on the wheel for too long. What’s the best way to clean these up? Scotch bright pad, magic eraser, some sort of metal scraper, some...

    '66 Newport 2 Door hardtop

All of the oddities that I was having after starting her up for the first time since November have cleared themselves out. The light was good this evening so I took some photos.

    400 vs 440 in a 76-78 New Yorker - noticeable difference?

Slightly off-topic here, but my '66 Newport with a 383-2v and 2.76 has no trouble "keeping up" with normal city traffic. Granted the car is probably 500 lbs. lighter than a Formal, but still, unless someone is driving their Mustang obnoxiously, I don't have any trouble keeping up with the flow...

Front windshield trim, and dash pad

Are these trim pieces installed correctly, sitting on top of the dash pad? The windshield has been replaced at some point and I’m just curious if they put it all back together correctly or not. Thank you.

Thinking of starting a you tube channel

If there is music playing in your video that is not yours or something you've bought a license to use, you will likely get copyright claimed, which means you cannot monetize the video. Now if you are a small channel (like mine) it doesn't matter because the channel will likely never get enough...

Quarter window seal replacement 66 fury 2door or similar

I ended up using the non-flocked version from Vans that is listed as fitting C Bodies, and while it did fit, it didn't want to stay in place, especially at the very top and after a few times of opening and closing the door. I ended up using weatherstrip adhesive to keep it in place. Are your...

Thinking of starting a you tube channel

I have a YT channel, but it's mostly about music, not cars. My advice is: don't have delusions that you'll get a lot of viewers or traction quickly. There are MILLIONS of videos out there and someone finding your video is like finding a needle in a haystack. So, in other words, create videos...

    '66 Newport 2 Door hardtop

Gave the SS Anderson a proper wash over the weekend, so I thought I'd make a quick video to show some of the repairs and improvements I've done over the last year. I'm gonna have to polish the paint a bit again since the car cover has introduced some defects. Check out the video!

    Dubious Trunk Repairs on ‘66

cool, it looks like someone just "reapplied" whatever it was they applied to the same areas, and added some mat/cloth for reinforcement. If I was going to restore this car I'd probably rip it all out and see what it looks like, but I'm just gonna redo the repair and call it good.
