    Charging question.

Greetings. Love your car. Always wanted the 300 with headlight covers. 1968 is THE Year. Anyway, the charge pegged to “C” scares me. I’ve read all the replies, as always, very informative. I’m leaning towards a defective regulator. Doesn’t matter how new it is. Sometimes trash right out of the...

    Pulling in neutral

Thank You for that comment, Brother. There is no doubt I payed too much for this job. Time will tell how bad I got hosed. The car drives great. The rocking upon startup is almost un-noticeable. I’m just super sensitive to these things. I feel/hear things, as the owner, nobody else does. Water...

    Pulling in neutral

To address your last question. It’s a good one. There are no shops in driving distance that can handle this job correctly. I could have searches for weeks to find someplace hours away to save ??? Ho knows how much. The place is top shelf and hundreds of 5 Star reviews. I played around with the...

    Pulling in neutral

Greeting Gents, Just had a complete rebuild on my 64 Newport transmission. Push button gear selector, 727 auto. Upon first start when cold, the car rolls forward a bit. Definitely unnerving. Has anyone experienced this? Before I bring it back to the shop. Any information is greatly appreciated...

Check your PCV valve, so easy and feeling stupid

I bought a 64 Newport two years ago. The poor thing was so “loaded-up” from a bad carb and poor (or lack of) a good tune up. Black puddles on the garage floor from the tailpipes. The PCV Valve was clogged. I pulled the valve covers to change the gaskets and brother you could fill a coffee cup...

Too hot- Part 2: Wrong heater hose routing

Greetings, I have the same situation facing me. In researching I’ve found these outfits. Hopefully will help. In the meantime… I would use the U shapes bypass hose and put in on the water pump housing. That’s worked for me. Cheers.
