Questions on timing chain and oil slinger

When Chrysler went to the double lip front seal they cut the slinger out. I was working at a dealer during that period. Mike

Parts cleaners - Ultrasonic, vibratory & solvent-experience welcome.

I use Safety Kleen solvent in my tank (they service it) but, it's large enough to fit a small v-8 cylinder block inside. I just had it serviced last summer (14 years) and it cost $600.00. That's not bad per year cost! That's my transmission tear-down table to the left. Mike

    Aluminum trim polishing

There are some products available for anodize removal and I had luck with them. I fasten long pieces of trim to 1x3/4" boards of correct length to control and support trim for buffing. Mike

Transmission questions again on my 68 fury iii

I am surprised no one has mentioned blasting for corrosion removal. I use my blast cabinet all the time when cleaning up parts. Currently using crushed glass. On drums, a blasting followed by buffing with a wire wheel brings back a new looking finish. But, pitting is cause for...

    Axle Leaking

I used JB Weld to fill rust pits on a pair of Ford 9" axles. It is rated for a fairly high operating temperature and will be operating in a lubed situation. I had a report today and the customer has 500 miles so far with no issues. Mike

Trying to find what transmission is in my 1972 Dodge Polara?

I use ATF+4 in all my stock rebuilds. I have it in my 1965 Coronet. Check out the fluid specs and you will be impressed. Mike

    Weight of 426 Hemi?

I paid extra to go completely aluminum. I weighed it complete with FAST TB installed and was treated to a weight of 420 lbs. Not too shabby for 540 cubic inches. Mike

Does cable shift slip yoke 727 torqueflight exist?

I do not know if the Fury column is similar but, attached is a photo of my 65 Coronet column for reference. Mike

    Clean up!

Use your Scotch Brite on the spade terminals to clean off any corrosion. I like to assemble the electrical connections with a product called No-Ox. It is a electrically conductive paste that prevents corrosion. The female terminals are difficult to shine up so I stick them in my blast cabinet...

    440 Camshaft Bearings

I couldn't find mains for my 3.8 mini van engine so when I spied some on e-bay I ordered a set. They were made in India and very professionally packaged. Mic'd out great and I have over 2,000 miles on them. Very cheap too! Mike

    2X4 Intake Carb Question

I recently watched a episode Engine Masters in which the boys tested the above 3 intakes and concluded that the Edelbrock OEM manifold was superior! Mike

I need to replace my 904

I agree with the "you can rebuild the transmission yourself" gang. Buy a rebuild book for tips and specs. Do the rebuild by sections: front clutch, rear clutch, gear train, case, and lastly the valve body. Just clean every part and assemble with Dexron fluid for lube or buy some assembly lube. A...

NOT MINE 1965 Chrysler New Yorker Town Sedan - $2,000 - Carver, Massachusetts

We had 2 65 Newports as daily drivers in the 70s. Absolutely, great driving cars! First one had a bad transmission (but new brakes) $45.00. The second model had been through a flood (needed a couple of electrical parts) $60.00. Ah, the good old days! Mike

    SOLD 1965 Newport gauge cluster.

I would guess-all but, I can't remember why I have it. One pin has been soldered but, it looks like a good repair. Mike
