    Lower hose spring for a 413 V8

OK here is the story. In looking for hoses for the 65 413 I see that it is hard to fine a lower hose with the spring in it. I see that the cure is a 13" X 1 5/8" spring that Ford web sites sell. Is this a legitimate fix? Other options? Thanks for the info you have.....

    New Yorker - 65 vs 66

One more thing-the 65 is the last year of the rear pump in the tranny. So you can push start it and tow with out removing the drive shaft. 65 New Yorker and a few Imperial touches like the door arm rest is a built in to the door panel and not a bolt on rectangle. Drive train is smoother with the...

Were to get, or what are the dimensions on the fender skirt rubber seal on a 65 c-body??

OK got the hub caps shining and waxed. Started in on the fender skirts which look good but the rubber lip seal/anti-squeek is rolled up like a rope and melted into one big lump. Does anyone sell these? Anyone have the sizes of the seal? Was able to get a shine on the fender skirts. Again thank you.

One of these is not like the others...

Thanks-I thought that might be it. I had a 66 New Yorker but it had 15" disk brakes hub caps so no reference to go by. I think I like the 65 better....

One of these is not like the others...

OK first I do not know if this is the right forum for this question. Hub caps. 1965 New Yorker. I spent a few hours today cleaning/polishing the four hub caps. I noticed that one of them has a Factory indent were the valve stem comes through. The other three are flush in that area. Was there a...

So the car is a post January1965 build New Yorker wagon and I got the replacement A/C condenser but need to paint it or not? And did the car get a "Air Condition by Auto Temp" decal on a window? I know 66 and up did but 65?

1965 front dash pad speaker grill screws.

Ya I am thinking that the 66 and later are four studs like my 64 Valiant. 65 seems to be a year on to it's own some times.

OK I have the am/fm radio and a new 6X9 speaker. PO (previous owner) had taken it all out. So far I found in the parts pile the mounting brackets and the radio mounting strap and the nuts for it. He took out the grill-why I do not know. I see it has 4 screw that hold it in. what size are they...

65 T&C New Yorker trim and speaker question.

And a quick question. The lower body trim on the New Yorker sedans/hardtop. Was it put on the wagons as well? I have seen photos both ways. And did the wagons in 65 get a rear speaker as a option? Thanks from Georgia.

Assist light under the hood. How does it work?

That looks like the same one as on my 60 Pontiac. Is that a push button at the top? Pull the light up vertical and it will slide out. rotate it around ti see if it goes out at all. While many are mercury switches many were also a small steel ball that would roll around and connect to a...

Catastrophic Rim Failure; Factory Original 14" Stamped Steel Rim

I see a lot of fresh torn metal. I am looking for LINE OF RUST/DISCOLOR. Then look for bright shinny metal on the edge, polished looking. That is were the crack was and the two sides of the crack rubbed each other and polished each other. Dull areas are fresh breaks. After that would need a...

    WANTED Radio noise condenser/capacitor

Motorola use to make a kit for all three suppressors. Can find them on ebay from time to time. That capacitor is .25mfd at 400 volts (for the big spikes) if memory is right.

Catastrophic Rim Failure; Factory Original 14" Stamped Steel Rim

My dad bought a new 66 Newport. On the drive from Calif. to Oklahoma with my mom driving my dad woke up and noticed that the steering wheel was far off center. Had mom pull over and saw the rear tire was almost flat due to the outer rim had split. Later we found out that some 66's we recalled...

It lives to drive on the roads again!

Well the 65 NY Wagon is back on the road as it should be. It only made it about 10 miles into a 20 trip because of water in the tank. Siphoned out the water and drove all the way with out problems. Brakes need a tweek and the parts are on the way. Drives nice shifts when it should. Engine has a...

    Y-Pipe for 65 413 wagon

So I am now looking for a cheap y-pipe to hold me over until I get a dual system. I have tried Walker/Waldron/ebay and others like even TTI. I have a few email out to them. Quick question, my system seams to have a pipe inside a pipe system. Was this stock? Or did it get changed by someone? Car...
