    1965 Chrysler 383

HUGE shoutout and thank you to Steve (saforwardlook) for coming over yesterday and helping me get the Chrysler running. I'm happy to report there were no bent valves or pushrods and the engine is healthy. Upon hearing it run, Steve had a feeling either the Pertronix unit or the distributor was...

    1965 Chrysler 383

Hey, Steve. Really good to hear from you. I hope all is well. Yup, it's been living under a cover outside. I've got the pool table in the garage and even if I didn't the Chrysler is too long to fit in my small (18' x 18') two car garage. I'm fairly certain I installed the fuel pump...

    1965 Chrysler 383

Unknown how old the gas was. Possibly 1.5 years. No stabilizer, 10% ethanol is all we can get here in SoCal. The thing is, when I first started it and the pump was bad, I filled the bowls of the carb through the vent tubes with fresh gas. It ran great on the fresh gas and died when the bowls...

    1965 Chrysler 383

'Morning, gents! It's been a while. So my 300 has sat for the better part of a year (at least). Very bad, I know and I wish that was the worst of it. I tried to get it running yesterday and it was quite the ordeal. The gas was bad. I siphoned out the old and put in fresh (big mistake). I...

    65 Headlight housings?

Detroit Muscle Technologies should have them. I sent him all my original flat rubber and foam gaskets for reproduction templates when I restored my car ('65 300).

    65 Headlight housings?

They do, but they are part of the grill assembly (2 halves). If you want to remove the assembly, there are 2 nuts at each side in the inner fender well at the core support and 4-6 screws mounting the top to the core support and there are 4-6 fasteners on the bottom side as well. Then the whole...

    GTO - Question

You should probably just sell the car. Did you join the website I recommended and post you conundrum there? I guess you have the only '66 GTO convertible that doesn't use the parts the vendors sell. I'm out. Good luck.

    GTO - Question

Remove the whole assembly. I think all you need to do is remove the two screws on the bracket and just that piece should come off. The entire header panel should not be one piece.

Pontiacs generally run hot too so it really won’t like triple digit ambient temps. Does it have Trips?

    GTO - Question

Call Ames or you can try wrapping it with teflon tape as they suggest in their catalog. It's also possible whoever restored the car used the incorrect year parts and made them fit.
