Favorite pic of your ride? Let’s see em!

My current daily driver, Newport Custom -68. On studded tires at present. I leave the hub caps and fender skrifts off when snowy, to make it easier to keep clean.

    BLOWER MOTOR AMPERE DRAW

Sry, havn't been under the dash. Is the resistor block separate from the switch, under the dash, or integrated to the switch?

This is why I work on my own car.

My now passed father-in-law drove a MB S500. The car was lacking power, so the garage changed air-mass-meter. At the same time they informed him that his headlights weren't working, and had identified the code for faulty xenon-driver-unit, at a cost of 1.700 EUR. Somewhat baffeled he took the...

Leaking freeze plug on 67 383

I replaced all my freeze plugs in both heads recently. They are hidden behind the headers, so the headers needs to be lifted. And as said, little room to knock the new ones in place. The trick turned out to be to remove the inner fenders (!). That allowed direct view and access from the wheel...

Big Blue, the 67 Crown Coupe - Managing Director Edition

Depending on what Your analysis gives You, don't repeat my error. I went for a NOS fuel pump, which let me down after less than 100 miles. NOS = age does not effect the diaphragm favorably = deteriorates. A new of reputable origin/make is recommended.

For Sale 1967 Imperial MB $25000 CDN

Ok, 2-door, or big front door was required, hence no 4-door MD. Thanks for clearing that out.

For Sale 1967 Imperial MB $25000 CDN

In an 4-door. Mobile Director is to me the ultimate executive limo. Limo as 2-door? Strange to me. Just getting 2 people in to the back seat needs swinging the table back and forth with both front seats raised/tilted forward at one time or the other. I just imagine it to be akward due to lack...

Since I am using my Newport -68 with 383 2-barrel as daily driver, and this year also in winter conditions, I want to install a heater in the lower hose btw radiator and water pump. Does anyone know what the inner diameter is? I need this to get the right size of heater.... I drive usually few...

    Transmission Options

I've got a Newport with 383/727 and 2,76 rear end combined with 15" wheels (original disc brakes). It's quite ok on highway up to about 70 mph, not stressed. But I don't do much burn outs with this combo...

Alternative to ammeter bypass - relays

Yes. The more contemporary cars I have/have had, say from 1980s onward, have som 10-15 relays. Now, that is not in my sights, but, as said: 1 each for: - dipped headlights (already in place) - high beam (all four headlights) (already in place) - wipers high/low (could probably find a twin...

Alternative to ammeter bypass - relays

A couple of months ago I upgraded the alternator in my -68 Newport to a 80 amp unit. My bulkhead connectors are cleaned since before and in general the wiring is in good nick. My ammeter is not so responsive, moving very little, only a mm and clearly not indicating correctly, but all other...

    What's your Daily Driver?

Driving a W126 560SEL as winter car myself. Together with W124 and W211, last generation possible to maintain myself combined with MB quality without risking computer/electronics failure and related costs. Mine has done 340.000 km and apart from regular rebuild/maintenance, I had to replace the...

    Introduction of Zwap from Sweden

Welcome Zwap from a fellow Swede in Stockholm with a Newport -68/383/2-bbl/727. @C-Body Boby Bob, very interested. As an exemple, there are new productions of molded hood insulations in the US, but the producer does not ship outside US due to that its fragile. But inside a container....
