    1965 New Yorker- new springs for towing

    I'm very pleased with the new, heavy duty 1" lift springs. With the load-leveling hitch, the car is level and the ride is good. The drive is much more comfortable than with the pickup truck we used to use. Here's a picture from our latest adventure. Carl K.

    I don't know how different the plumbing is on your car, but here's the RV2 compressor on my '65. The blue hose is the low pressure side. The red hose is the high pressure side. I hope this helps. -Carl

    I had some time last weekend to install the new springs I had purchased from ESPO (Springs and Things). The originals on my '65 New Yorker were flat, in fact they had reverse curvature when the gas tank was full. Note this is without the trailer attached! Here's how the rear wheels looked...

    Reinstalling axle in 8.75 - driver's side axle goes too far in?

    There are "thrust buttons" in the spider gear carrier. One may have fallen out, allowing the left side axle to go in too far. If you are changing to the non-adjustable "green bearings", these buttons are not used. (sorry for the small pic I found via Google)
