    5 lug conversion

I have NEVER seen B or C, or even R or M with 4 lugs...unless somebody didn't know about the Left handed threads on the left side. Despite the clearly stamped capitol L on the lug. My Dad used to paint the L white and the lug end red on our cars AND paint the information on the insides of the...

1976 Gran fury wagon. Want to go from 440 to a 318

As I read through all this I had a inkling there was more to the story. You sly old dog! I just want to say that regardless of age, none of us, NONE, are IMMUNE TO BEING STUPID. I had this pointed out to my wife and I and when we went out on an interstate trip, no tools, in a beater van, to...

A Few Fuel Pump Questions Before Installation

Well said! The last fuel pump I did I put gasket goo on one side of the gasket. My son gave me a funny look and asked if I knew there was a peel off protective strip? I guess he was watching all those years.

    Cracked Fuel Pump

I have worked quality control for a U.S.A. manufacturer. Many of the parts I inspected were for oem assembly from Mexico. Roughly 1/3 of the new electric motors would fail. Other inspectors would wiggle around so that a different section of the commutater would make contact with the brushes...

    Cracked Fuel Pump

Kind of like somebody from P.E.T.A. I saw on the news the other night. The man and woman were both wearing leather hiking boots. She had a leather purse or satchel and leather dress gloves. He had a leather belt. I rather doubt the cow gave up its hide willingly. Cheap parts may be made in...

I think it’s the Ballast resistor?

Yeah, I had the same thing. I started to get a stumble, then after going over some railroad tracks, it died out for a second . Then boom! At the time a Sheriff car was right next to me. The lights came on and I thought I was done for. He walks up and said Good afternoon sir, may I see your...

    Limited slip or full spool?

I agree with most of these, it may be kind of hard to find a good guy to recurve a distributor these days. The carb if you drop to 650 cfm will liven up throttle response. The 750 is a good choice but the kickdown on the 650 gives a better response in my experience. It is hard not to end...

    Limited slip or full spool?

Spool on the street even with limited use is bad news. Yes it can be done, just like a hotel room lobotomy, but it isn't a good idea. Where the idea that 275's are too wide for a limited slip differential is blowing my mind. The only real thing that comes to mind: HE DRIVES A CHEVY or even...

What are the rubber plugs in the floor pans for?

I love the quote. So very true. Never try to outthink a fool, they are usually a true genius.

That engine bay looks a little empty. Maybe a procharger would take up some space.

    73 Fury Electrical Issues

I'd like to hear the story of the nylons! They were always a pain to remove. Sorry, my minds always in the gutter.

    451 went boom

Muscle Motors closed the shop down in Lansing, Mi.. I'm not sure if they retired or what, but they left a gap for mid-michigan mopar fans.

    451 went boom

Sleeving depends on the machinist. The good guys won't be cheap but the work is solid. My thoughts, use your 440 in the down time. Figure all options for the 451. The 440 with typical rv usage and lower compression should live a long life of cruising...at a little slower pace.

    Oil recommendations 1976 440

I used Rotella exclusively in my class 8 tractor when I drove. I never had an engine failure. Injectors, alternators, A/C, tires, brakes, lights - yes Engine never. I started to use it in cars, some were pretty bad, but it never failed me.

    Clearcoat peeling..any suggestions??

Silver, white, some reds delaminated terribly on the GM's. Trying to get the local dealership to fix the issue was a waste of time. Finally talked to the body shop manager turned out the service writer would drag his feet until after the warranty ran out.

    Clearcoat peeling..any suggestions??

Beautiful Car none the less. I can't offer a suggestion so I 'll just shut up. When I walk into a body shop I see their eyes...those dollar signs just scare me to death.
