65 New Yorker, first project car

Use discretion when looking up You Tube videos on how to do a particular job. There are many good ones out there but there are also ones that should not be because some folks just don’t have a clue. This goes for any type of how to video.

Your thoughts on paint color change 1966 Imperial convertible

Doing a color change correctly would involve a lot more time and money obviously. Not sure you would get your money back out of it if you were to sell after awhile. That is a big decision you will need to make. If it were mine, I'd keep the original color. That color is a great one on an...

1968 Chrysler 300 Ignition Switch Lamp Location

My ‘68 Fury III has this bezel that surrounds the ignition and the light mounts above that. You can see the opening at 12 o’clock. Did you remove that big ashtray in the middle and look in that way?

    Power steering box recommendation/opinions?

I'd be careful with a cheap rebuilt steering gear. There is a real good chance it is a Cardone brand rebuild which are pretty much junk anymore. They basically clean and paint cores and call it rebuilt. Firm Feel and Steer & Gear are companies that are exclusively steering and suspension...

A new apprentice of the MOPAR club - 1973 Newport Custom

Very nice score! That is a great looking 4 door hardtop. That trunk rust is just on the surface, it will clean up easily. Us "rust belt" guys wish that was all we had to deal with. May I suggest whitewall tires to break up those wide sidewalls if you go to replace the tires. You will be...

    Factory 4 speed shifter help!

Hurst is the way to go. However if you want to keep the stock Inland "guess a gear" shifter, I believe there is a kit to convert the "guts" of the Inland shifter to Hurst. Can any of the 4 speed guys out there confirm this? I remember reading about this a few years ago. Being I'm a column...

    Confused

I ran a wire from the alternator stud to the starter relay to reduce the current going through the bulkhead to the ammeter. Ammeter still works, it just doesn't swing as wide either way. I also cleaned the bulkhead terminal and made sure the nuts attaching the wires to the ammeter are tight...

Anyone have a really nice 68 fury instrument bezel? Perhaps an NOS one?

That’s what I was referencing. The plastic surround that serves as the “face” of the dash. Has the lettering identifying the switches & gauges etc. I don’t know if Just Dashes restores those or not.

Anyone have a really nice 68 fury instrument bezel? Perhaps an NOS one?

That is going to be tough to find. They always cracked around the radio for some reason and if it got taken off and put back on a few times it usually cracked even more. Try Just Dashes, they're in California. justdashes.com Good luck.

    A/C Compressor Clutch Seal Replacement

Those compressor clutches are pretty robust and last a long time. As long as it engages, doesn't slip or chatter while running, you should be fine. Like the previous posts stated, hang on to your compressor as long as you can. A factory service manual is a must have tool for our old rides.
