    1971 Dealer demo. Wowsa!

A person could truly personalize their car back then with all the individual options to check off. In retrospect, with this Imperial having standard manual air conditioning, I wonder how many people regretted checking off the Autotemp option for only $18.50.

Chirping sound, and where to get rear drums?

if it turns out that you have a bad rear (universal) u-joint, I would replace the front u-joint while you have everything apart.

    Typical window regulator issue?

Yes. FYI, when you place the 4 prongs of the retainer through the track and glass, you then push the plastic stick like a plunger all the way in to create pressure to hold it in place.

    Typical window regulator issue?

This is the plastic retainer and gasket I needed to for my 68, I would think it hadn’t changed by 1970

    Typical window regulator issue?

It sounds like the plastic piece that holds the track to the window glass may have disintegrated. The track sits on the bottom of the glass. The glass has a hole that lines up with the holes on the track. There is a gasket that wraps around the glass, that is probably toast as well.

new convertible boot, and original boot markings for those interested

Here you go. The top was up, but, I went out there today. This is the track that the boot slides into. The top of the seat and track are original to the car. In the photo the top is down and the boot is unsnapped and folded over for you.

new convertible boot, and original boot markings for those interested

Thanks. Legendary only installs 3 snaps. One in the middle of the rear, and 2 on the sides, the balance come in a bag with a rudimentary punch tool. Unlike today with computer controlled robot assembly, our cars were assembled by humans, so things like these snaps could have slight variations...

new convertible boot, and original boot markings for those interested

yes. On my boot, there is a plastic strip that slides into a metal slot along the entire width of the back seat top. This plastic strip was oem, it came on the Legendary boot as well, it stops the boot from buffeting when driving with the top down. when I put the top up, I unsnap the boot and...

BEST CAR COVER FOR MY 1965 Chrysler newport 4 door

Will your car be stored on a solid surface, such as concrete? If it will be stored on grass or dirt, and you put a 100% waterproof cover on it, you will create a greenhouse effect, where the moisture from the ground will come up and have nowhere to escape and will rot the car from the...

    Magnum 500 wheels on a 70 300

I have the 15 inch Magnums on my 68 with front drum brakes, they fit fine. I remember when I ordered them, the center cap, chrome valve stem and lug nuts were all separate. Which was just as well because I still have left threaded lug nuts on the drivers side.

    '68 300 originality

The Chrysler Spring Success sale brochure shows the Two tone vinyl bench interior with turquoise carpeting on the Newport. white or black vinyl roof standard. The brochure states the 300 would come standard with bucket seats. Could a 300 have been ordered with a Newport interior?

First a thank you to Craig @mobileparts on the forum. A great supplier of brake and suspension parts, great info and convention. I have been trying to keep the 68 300 as produced. The car was built with 4 wheel drum brakes. A while back while driving the car, I could hear a grinding from the...

I see the windows up with the top down. Power windows? Working? Fender tag pic? Mice and wiring

We had a major mouse problem in my son’s garage in Ohio. an old detached structure, pre 1900 per old land surveys, so probably not originally a garage. The traps had to be emptied daily. A few years ago we started putting out D-con mouse and rat bait pellets. At first the bait would disappear...
