1959 Chrysler 300E Parts. Any demand?

Body and chassis wise it shares most parts with the full size Chryslers and Desotos from '57 through '59. Even if it is to far gone to restore, a lot of the parts are hard to find, you shouldn't have any trouble selling parts. The more options, the better. If you get the car, send pictures.

    WANTED 1963 Chrysler Newport Hood

Not all of the 64's used the center chrome strip on the hood. I used one from a '64 Newport on my 300J. It had a full width chrome molding on the front that mounted with half of the number of holes as the '63. The same spacing, just had to drill the extra holes for the separate '63 letters.

    spark plug heat range

My 300J with the 390 hp 413 had J-9y's with a 9.7 comp ratio. When I rebuilt it, I dropped the ratio down to 9.0 and went with a J-8y as the 9's are no longer available. It runs fine at 32 degrees. It seems that every catalog shows pre-1970 Chryslers are supposed to use J-12Y's which were too...

    Weird-***, goofy Mopar trivia thread

Actually, it was a 413, the same industrial version used in the 900 and 1000 series Dodge trucks. Mack referred to it as a 414. They used the the two piece SAE industrial bell and clutch housings.

What's The Cheapest You Remember A Gallon of Gas?

I worked at a local gas station here in northern NM when I was was in high school in 1972. Regular was 22 cents and premium was at 24 cents a gallon. That was for self-serve. It was 2 cents a gallon each more for "full service", which got you your windshield washed and your gas pumped for...
