Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

Thanks for the link Tim. Universal hangers don't fit well w/ our 69-73 Chrysler models. The exhaust from Waldrons fit pretty well. Universal hangers were found everywhere w/ this hacked exhaust system I removed. There are some very tight clearances over the rear axle and rear bumper. Just trying...

Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

Here are the new replacement parts. Shown are the left and right 1 piece manifold to muffler pipes. Left side was spot on. the right had to be massaged a little. It appears the correct exhaust hangers need are the same as my Hurst 300. Universal hangers were employed currently. see last 4 photos

I pulled the 383 out of my 66 windsor

Here is my take on how to rebuild w/ success. As @dematt said bore the cylinders .030 over. That will insure good ring seal also it will remove the ridge at the top of the cyl. bores eliminating possible piston ring breakage. As for your crankshaft, if measuring w/ a micrometer allows, micro...

318 freeze plug 1968 Plymouth fury III

To avoid revisiting this again I would recommend replacing all freeze plugs. w/ the age of the engine being a 1968, total freeze plug replacement would be cheap insurance against future failure. As @Toolmanmike stated the cyl head freeze plugs rarely fail. They do develop thin spots due to...

what is best oil to use on 1978 Chrysler with 400 engine?

My personal choice has been 10w30 Valvoline VR1 w/ a bottle of Lucas Zinc additive. The added zinc additive combined w/ the VR1 gives excellent results. The viscosity benefits is critical lubrication the upper valvetrain gets there much faster thereby minimizing cold start wear. With some of...

    383 Intake install

Just use the steel shim only intake gasket. Use a little RTV in the corners where the intake gasket meets cylinder head and engine block to prevent oil seepage or leaks. Clean all manifold bolts and chase the treads in the cylinder head. Oil the threads prior to install and torque to specs.
