    77 NYB won't crank

I went to start my NYB today and when I turned the key to the crank position I heard a 'pop and crack' sound and it seemed like everything went dead. Now when I go to crank it none of the lights light up on the dash and the starter will not crank. I replaced the starter relay but it did not...

1977 Chrysler New Yorker Differential fluid

Thank you again Dave. The read end had some clanking shifting from drive to reverse. The old fluid looked like complete sludge Hope the sound will be reduced with the new fluid change. Thank you again for your help. Best Regards', Nick.

1977 Chrysler New Yorker Differential fluid

Thank you Dave. I appreciate your help. Yes both wheels turn in the same direction. If I use the Lucas product will I still need an additive? Also, before listing this post I used Valvoline HP 80-90. It doesn't say if it is Synthetic but is does say that it is API GL 4-5 suitable for...

1977 Chrysler New Yorker Differential fluid

I'm changing the Differential fluid on my 1977 NYB. It is equipped with a 440 and has a 12 bolt cover. I wondering if it needs a friction additive. Also, I do not see any spider gears inside. Instead there are some springs. What type of differential did they use on the NYB?

    1964 Imperial

Just spoke with the owner. He mentioned that he could have it shipped for $800. Sounded like he would possibly take 8K for the car but he is now talking about parting the car out. He also has a 67 convertible but it will need complete restoration. The owner seems like a nice guy but he also...

    1964 Imperial

Dave, Thanks for the advice. I think you are right. Once shipping is added in it's not feasible. If the car was closer so that I could see it in person I might make a different decision. However, I will pass on this one. Thanks for the help.

    1964 Imperial

Here is the picture of the trunk that the owner sent me. I also received a picture of the side. Both sides of the car have scratches all the way down the car. He suggested a wet sand and new paint on the sides as the scratcher are deep. The seller is asking 9K and turned down 7K from another...

    1964 Imperial

Thanks for all the advice. I just Talked with him. He is a member here on C-Bodies. The car has been in the same family since new. He asked to buy it over 1 1/2 years ago and just got it recently. The only reason he bought it was because he told the owner that he would and felt obligated...

    NYB Emblem Restoration

Just ordered the Crystal Clear 200 from Reynolds Advanced Materials. Glenn over there was extremely helpful. He offered his help if any of us need some. You can reach him at 818-358-6000. As for removing the air bubbles, he said that baking it is not a good option as it would speed up the...

    NYB Emblem Restoration

I added a gloss clear coat to them. I will also be adding the Crystal Clear filler to them. As mentioned above, the factory never painted or filled them. However, it I think that it gives them a finished look. I'm somewhat curious as to why the factory never did it.
