    WANTED Wiring Harness's

I have a complete harness from a 1969 Dodge Polara. I don't know if it's the same as the Chrysler though, but I saved it anyway (I have all Chrysler fuseys).

    EW1 Spinnaker White touch-up paint

The paint I found that matches Ford Wimbledon White is "Easy Care" "Premium Decor" Gloss Enamel, Heirloom White color manufactured by GPM out of Cary, IL. I found it at a Big R farm/ranch supply store.

    EW1 Spinnaker White touch-up paint

I find that with whites and reds the selection of spray paints is awesome. I recently matched wimbledon white in a spray can. (Take a part with you, like a fender cap to match). Great way to touch up tiny rock chips and scratches. And I use a pointy toothpick to apply a tiny amount of paint...

Overheating at idle on really hot days

Don't forget, a rusted closed exhaust manifold heat riser will cause an overheating engine! I had this on a 1970 300 convertible non-a/c car I picked up in TX. It boiled over going up the slow steep grade coming out of Hoover dam. When they are stuck nearly ALL of the exhaust is forced...

Question on towing a C Body

    I've used U-Haul vehicle transporters for at least 4 fuseys, including a '70 440 T & C wagon. I have a 2008 F-150, 2-wheel drive, std. cab, 4.2L push-rod V-6 (3/4 of a 351 Windsor) and a 5-speed manual trans. I take it EASY, and it isn't fast going up a 5000' pass to get home. Oh, and I still...

    Timing chain replacement

Thanks for the info! I will be careful not to apply too much force on the cam gear when installing it and some moly lube. I'm planning on putting the gears and chain in a zip lock bag of oil to get it well pre-lubricated. And a new front seal of course!

    Timing chain replacement

I'm going to be confirming a need for a replacement timing set for my '69 Chrysler 383 w/ 100K. About 10-15* of slop in the chain before the distributor rotor moves.... The Factory Service Manual says to use a camshaft holding tool C-3509 to prevent the camshaft from contacting the plug at the...

Am I forgetting anything for timing gear swap?

I'm going through the same procedure on reviving a '69 Newport 383-2BBL manual trans/steering/brakes car w/ 100K miles. Just for kicks I pulled on the crank and noticed about 10-15* of slop in the timing chain before any rotation of the distributor rotor. I'm going to do a compression check...

    Manifold heat contol valve

I've used Kroil for busting loose frozen/seized exhaust manifold nuts/bolts and for freeing totally stuck heat risers. Best rust penetrate ever. Works every time!

    69 Sport Suburban part out.

Save those wagon wheels if they are original, including the spare and jack! They are the widest 15" wheels for Fusey cars! Throw some old 14 or 15" Ford wheels on it as rollers...

    Determining replacement piston ring size...?

I will have to get a photo of the cracked 1st cam bearing. I've been using a How to rebuild Mopar big block book + the factory service manual. The block was cleaned (now get this!) with a pressurized garden sprayer, toothbrushes and Oil Eater cleaner/detergent in my storage unit. It took me...

Every Fuselage Chrysler I've seen with 2 OR 3-pedals have the chrome trim pedal dress up. Its standard guys. This car has NO factory options. Yes, it has manual drum brakes. And manual steering. The disc brake option has the same chrome surround as drum brake cars, except it says " Power...

    Determining replacement piston ring size...?

Thanks for all the advice guys! I plan on removing the ridges with my ridge reamer. I'm using the original pistons (all cleaned up, including ring lands) and just putting new rings, bearings, cam, lifters and timing set in bottom end. I've cleaned all but the crank and oil pick-up/pan...
