They were soaked and the rust was dissolved. Then sand blasted. They have had a hard life.

Has anyone used bed liner or some think paint to fill in pits on control arms? I just painted mine with primer and black rustolem and it looks like crap.

My machine shop said the same thing. I used a standard replacement pump in my rebuild.

I thought that the most important aspect for my rebuild was the machining and dimensions. These blocks could be really rough - even from the factory. So, truing everything up (the line bore, cylinder bore with torque plate, decked block, etc) was important for me. Also, the factory compression...

Taylor was bought out by Pertronix a few month ago. Might be a good thing - we will have to see.

That one on the site, I think, is ours. Echlin USA is ours and Echlin non-USA is Mexico. They change the part numbers a few times after it leaves us, so it can get confusing.

the environmental regulations (the oil filled) and cost drove the coil business out of the US. I don't know if any are made in the US anymore, so it is a crap shoot.

Elgin does not make the caps and rotors. I do not know of any other US maker of caps and rotors except for some small specialty stuff. Even MSD went to China for most of their stuff.

Could be old. Usually if it is new and made in USA it is ours.
